All weather floor mats

Hi,

We live in Seattle area and runs quite often here. I'm planning to get all weather floor mats for my 6 seater GLS. I see two options:

1. https://a.co/d/3CADXcg - 3D MAXpider All-weather floor mats
2. https://a.co/d/8U5SzF4 - WeatherTech custom fit.

Are there any other options? Anyone using these and any recommendation?

Thanks

I've got the Mercedes ones. No idea how much they cost as they came with the car, but I really like them.

I've had good luck with most of the Weathertech stuff as well, but not specific to the GLS. Have never seen the others you posted.

I'm waiting for the Mercedes ones but as I understand the Mercedes ones are not 3D i.e. there is no raised edges. I like the ones with raised edges.

The Mercedes ones do not have true raised edges all around. But they are curved "upwards" where water would run off. For example, for the front floor maps, the top is completely flat because it is "uphill", but the bottom edge curves upward to form a lip, so that water would collect on the mat and not run off onto the carpeting.

Weathertech

Hi. I also live in the Seattle area and just bought a new GLS 450. I purchased a full set of WeatherTech mats for my new car including a large one for the rear storage area. All I can say is they are absolutely perfect as far as fit and appearance go. They might be a little expensive but they really do the job. I have had them in several of my cars and I have never been disappointed. One good thing about the car mats in the front and the middle seat is that they have snap in attachment points at hold them in place. I highly recommend these.

Thanks a lot @Scott Schmidt . This is really helpful. Can you please share some pictures, if possible?

The Mercedes ones get better every year, but they are still not nearly as nice as Lexus floor mats, made of pure rubber. The WeatherTech ones that I had were particularly bad.

2020 GLS450 (wife) / 2024 Ford Bronco (mine) / 2014 VW Tiquan (son)
We have the WeatherTech piece for the second row (we're bench seating). It's one long piece, and has been flawless since new (2 years now). Perfect fit, slides right in and connects down to the existing clips.

We went with the MB version for the cargo area that is carpet on top and rubber lined underneath. While not a raised edge piece, the carpet is thick and will absorb any spills to keep them from sloshing around. The rubber backing prevents the spills from soaking through to the car. If/when dirty, it's a soak job with the hose and let it dry. It also makes living with the little flapper accessory that protects the bumper from nicks/dings when loading/unloading very easy to do. I can't remember what those things are called, a "cantona" maybe? Something like that - but totally recommend one for you car too! Has saved not only our rear bumper from scratches, but also many pairs of pants from leaning up against a filthy rear bumper while loading / unloading items from the store.

The front seats are just basic MB floor mats. They've done pretty well actually, can't complain. If too dirty, we just run them through the floor mat cleaning gadget at our local car wash shop, and they're back to new.

This is what I got: https://toughpro.com/pages/product-r...gls450~yr_2022

I had had the same brand for my Audi Q7 and pretty happy with the quality and fit. So went with the same brand when we got the GLS450

I have the 3D MAXPIDER mats front and rear and think they're the best mats I've ever owned. Also on my wife's BMW X3.

Purchased 2020 GLS 450 and looking for all weather cargo liner to go behind the second row. Vehicle has the Burmester High End 3D system and both the WeatherTech and Smartliner sites say that as a result, their cargo liners do not fit my vehicle. Anyone know of an all weather cargo liner that works with the Burmester High End system? Thanks.

The Mercedes plastic trunk liner works fine in my GLS63 with 3D sound.

I was planning on ordering the 3d floor mats yesterday after trading messages with them over the last week. I went to order only to find out they do not make mats for the 6 seat GLS. Only the 7 seat currently. They tell me they are working on designing them and they might be available in 7-8 months. After doing some looking even the knockoffs are for 7 seat only. It looks like 6 seaters can only get weathertech. I am waiting to hear back from Tuxmat. Are there any options I have missed?

They do make a 6 seat option, but it covers the heat vents under the 3rd row seat. They claimed they did not think they did and were unaware where the vents were. I confirmed the picture shown was accurate and explained where the vents were. They didn't seem concerned so I'm not expecting a design update.

After trading emails with a rep who seemed to be interested in solving the problem and sending pictures of the vents, I was told that these vents must be specific to American models only and they use Canadian vehicles and won't be updating their design. I guess I'll just wait and see if 3d comes out with a 6 seat design in a few months as they promised. Hopefully they take this into account.

Huh? Really, let me see if I can find comparison pictures, if you do find those pictures please post them, I wonder how different they are.
