2024 GLS Pricing

I haven't purchased a GLS since 2020 (when there were decent discounts). What kind of pricing can I expect placing an order for a 2024?

MSRP if you are lucky. Some dealers are adding a mark-up. Mark-up depends on the model, from easy to hard to get: 450, 580, GLS63, Maybach

Crazy. I'm just looking to do a 450 order - should be very easy to get. I wonder if it's worth waiting a few months? I'm not in a rush - my current GLS is at the 3 year mark - I just prefer not going out of warranty (but I have ~13mo until then).

Not as crazy as Range Rover, or what is now JRL. I've been waiting 3 years for a new L460, and they still can't tell me when, or even if it'll happen. And they've got mark-ups as high as $50K over MSRP depending on the model. So I am switching to the GLS. I've got a #1 allocation for a 2024 GLS 580 once the DOG comes out and they start taking orders.

May I ask why you are replacing your 2020 so soon? I don't like keeping a car out of warranty, but because of the wait for a new one, my current Rover has 50K miles and is 6 years old.

Purely because I've had bad experiences being out of warranty. My wife's previous Mercedes, an ML bluetec, had the entire diesel system fail 1 week past warranty I still have 13mo though.

If you like your GLS, you can look into buying an extended warranty on your 2020. I agree about not wanting to have a GLS out of warranty.

I'm in similar boat as you (lease on 2020 GLS ending in a few months). Keep in mind that our 2020 trucks are also in high demand (maybe even more than the new ones), so we should be able to negotiate a much better deal on the new car provided that we return the old one to the same dealer. Case in point, my car residual at the end of the lease as per the contract is around $44K while the current value as per Edmunds is around 56K trade-in or 60K private-party sale (and a dealer retail value of 63K). If they will be making a profit of 19K over reselling my old truck if I just turn in my lease to them at the end of it, it shouldn't be too difficult to negotiate another 10-12% below MSRP deal with them for the new one. Few months ago I did the same with wife's outgoing E-class and got her a 2023 C-class 10% below MSRP.

Sounds about right. The dealership offered me $61k for my GLS (MSRP was $90k I believe). It will be less by the time the new one arrives though.

I'm also considering trading our 2020 GLS for a 2024 GLS before the factory warranty expires at the end of this year. Kelly Blue Book estimates trade-in value at $66,895 for our 2020 GLS with Black/Expresso, 20,000 miles, optional 20" wheels and running boards at $66,895 ("very good" condition). I've contacted the local M-B dealer, who wants a $1,000 deposit, but will not commit to MSRP or any other pricing agreement. They want to wait until the vehicle is delivered in the 3rd or 4th quarter and then negotiate trade-in value and final cash price. Needless to say I'm looking elsewhere and also considering a 2024 BMW X7, which are already in production.

Same here - I don't think anyone will commit to the sales price or trade-in right now honestly.

Securing any deals on a 24 model will be very difficult for the next couple of months as it just came out and that's always the case with all new models/refreshes. If you don't mind the mild refresh, the 23 model is where good deals can be made as the new refreshed model starts coming out. In any case, do not give your old truck away before you have the keys of the new car in hand (or have received the market value for it in cash and are ok with skipping GLS altogether in case your dealer fails to hold up their end of the bargain).

Placed an order for a 2024 GLS with a Rhode Island dealer at MSRP pricing. MANUFAKTUR Cardinal Red Metallic and Bahia Brown MB-Tex. They had two allocations for the 2024 GLS and both orders are now filled. The build is tentatively scheduled for late July with delivery expected in September.

@amelen , if you prefer the car always be in warranty, why not simply lease?

The 0% financing came out better then leasing. It also gives me the flexibility to get a new car sooner or later then the specific lease period.

I guess so.
I got out of a 3 year lease 1 year early but these are still strange times...

Is the 0% financing from MBFS?

Yes, I got it ~3 years ago. 0% and I think a $1,000 bonus to do it on top of that. I'm sure it doesn't exist anymore in the current interest rate environment.

No, it does not. 0% interest on a luxury car is as extinct as the dodo bird!

Just got off the phone to our dealer (Richmond, VA). They have two allocations. The first couldn't be done with some of the options I want, so mine has a build date of Sep 19.

My sticker has a price tag of $31m, this inflation thing has really hit hard... (they put $7,777,777 for all options they didn't have a price for yet)

If you could arrange for that before Sep 19, that would be grand.

That red is beautiful...

Just MB started to call it designo color and raised the price to 1080 then called it manufaktur color then charged 1750...

Yes, I doubt there is any difference between the 2022/23/24 MANUFAKTUR Cardinal Red Metallic paint and the original 2020/21 premium Cardinal Red Metallic. Many online photos have poor color accuracy so it is difficult to tell if there is any difference, but I believe they are identical and it is just marketing BS. If you want the color, you'll have to pay $1750 for the privilege, up 60% since 2020. I chose the color in part because it should work very nicely with the new Bahia Brown/Black upholstery and new glossy Brown Linden Wood trim.
