Glide mode success stories

Hello All,
Anybody tried glide mode and successfully got it activated?

I can easily get gliding mode activated on GLC for example, but having trouble getting it active on GLS.

As per the manual:With an anticipatory driving style, glide mode helps you to reduce fuel consumption.
Glide mode is characterised by the following:
- The combustion engine is disconnected from the drivetrain and continues to run in neutral.
- The transmission position D is displayed in green in the multifunction display.
- Vehicles with 48 V on-board electrical system (EQ-Boost technology): the combustion engine can be switched off. All of the vehicle functions remain active.

Glide mode is activated if the following conditions are met:
- E driveprogram is selected
- The speed is within a suitable range.
- The road's course is suitable, e.g.nosteep uphill or downhill inclines or tight bends
- There is no trailer coupled to the trailer hitch, and no bicycle rack installed.
- You do not depress the accelerator or brake pedal (except for light brake applications).

Yep my 20 does this quite often in E mode with the start/stop feature turned on (which is rare, I almost always turn it off as part of the sequence to start the car in general. Muscle memory I guess of 6 years with a 212).

Wish it would do Glide Mode when coming to a stop in general across the entire brand. Car and this 37 gear transmission would be perfect!

OK There u are, I always disable start/stop and that may be the reason why I cannot get the glide mode enabled.
Let me test it with start/stop enabled, that should work out. Thanks @nc211 !

Yep, I have used glide mode on a long drive (+400 miles) and it works. When going down hill, the engine will cut out and show you in glide mode as it transitions. Vehicle was too new for me to tell the impact on mileage at the time.
