Are you working with Adam?

Mine is at MSRP. I honestly didn’t expect them to go below, so when they balked pretty hard at negotiating I didn’t blink an eye.

I was in this business all through college - so I have been there and knew where I wasn’t making inroads on the GLS. I have a very desirable trade (2021 Suburban, High Country trim in a great color combo with every option and a Diesel), so that’s where I’ll make my negotiations. I’m reasonable, but perhaps more than the average owner, I know what I’ve got and what they’re going for on Mannheim and as comps.

So far, I have been very happy with Sun. Now I just need someone with an order in allocation to drop the silver 22” AMG Multispokes so they can pick it up for my build before it goes red…

I am working with Dan Comune. I am from this area and walked into the dealership and placed an order. As per Dan, they will consider any MB incentives or preferred employer discount once vehicle arrives.

Nice. Adam told me the same.

My production date is 11/17... I am presuming a December delivery. Not that they will offer much, but who knows what Mercedes will come out with this year.

I have a good dealer in the NYC-metro that doesn't up charge, PM me if anyone wants an intro.

I was down at the Chantilly dealership last week to finally schedule the seat repairs. I had a few minutes to spare so I walked the lot of what they had. I didn't see any market adjustment markups on the window stickers, and was looking for them too out of curiosity. Maybe that gets sprung on the buyer later in the process, I'm not really sure how it works, but they weren't listed on the window sticker on any of the cars. Would seem to me that if it's not listed on the actual window sticker price tag, one could argue of a bait & switch scam against the dealership, which is illegal to do.

Just got a call from Adam at Sun Motorcars... they were able to get me a production slot with everything I want + the wheels I want (apparently an order got changed), but I am shifting to a 12/15 production date. It is worth it to me to get the 22" wheels. I waited an extra 5 months to get ILS on my C250 back in 2012, so I am old hat at this.

Sun Motorcars really has been a class act so far... I couldn't be happier.

Just received an update from my sales guy. My car has been build and shipped today which is 2.5 weeks before the original build date of 12-NOV-2023.

Did they give you any idea as to when it would be received? We're only about 13-14 hours from Vance, and since it will come through the Baltimore VPC I can't imagine time from production to delivery will be that long.

Thank you. I was told It can take at least 7-10 days for the dealer to get it once they release the vehicle to trucking company. Tomorrow is the 7th day as they shipped the vehicle on last Tuesday. I scheduled for delivery on Wednesday afternoon this week hoping they would receive the vehicle by end of the day Tuesday. 🤞Yes, vehicles come through Baltimore VPC but I don't think we have an option to pickup vehicle from there. My sales guy is off today and expecting an update from him by EOD tomorrow. I think vehicles are transported via autorack rail cars. I may be wrong.

I had an update from the dealer that they are only offering preferred employer incentives only to MB electric vehicles and any models up to GLE. Going with invoice price.

I checked with my sales guy this morning, and I am still on my original track. He said that it isn't likely that mine will get pulled forward because I have Pinnacle trim, which is extremely limited at the moment - but stranger things have happened.

Patience, patience... and trying to keep the miles off of my Suburban in the meantime. My Geo hasn't been driven this much in its entire life. 🤣

Just got an update from the sales guy that they already had the vehicle(they probably received yesterday)and ready for tomorrow's delivery 🥳🥳. It took 6 days since they shipped.

As you are a MB veteran do you recommend any prepaid maintenance, extended ltd warranty, wheel/tire protection plus packages ? Are they really worth ?

I'm in South Florida and my closest 2 dealers are doing MSRP+normal fees on a vehicle ordered.

I was hoping to get some discounts for it.

Is anybody getting discounts on ordered vehicles?.

No discounts on these yet. If you want a discount, you'd have to look at the EQS, etc..

I may not be the best to answer this as I do all of my own maintenance - at least with regards to the prepaid maintenance. I'm thinking that extended warranty is probably a good idea with these, and have not decided if I am going to do it at point of purchase or a bit down the road (I seem to remember that there was a member on here who had a contact for the MB warranty at a reduced cost).

I had wheel/tire protection on my C250 as our roads have some nasty frost heaves, and it paid for itself after 1 incident with an unavoidable hit which was hard enough to bend 2 wheels and deploy my headrests... 2 18" AMG 7 spoke wheels and tires paid for the cost of it. I will be doing that for my GLS when it comes in, based on that one experience alone.

I had to go 1.5 hours outside of the DC area to find a dealer that wasn't still trying to charge $10K+ ADP. My deal was at MSRP, which while a first for me - I was okay with. I have a high value trade, Blackbook and mannheim access - so I'll work any negotiations on my trade. A few grand that I might get off of MSRP isn't going to make a difference, but I will not pay ADP in any shape or form... there is already holdback in MSRP, they get enough profit as is.

Thanks for your response. Planning to take extended warranty before I hit 4 years/50k miles. Any idea if wheel/tire protection package price varies by dealer ?

It's been so long, I am not sure if it is an MB product or through an underwriter. If it is a 3rd party, the price could be different.

For example, I have 22" wheels/tires on my current Suburban - I did the wheel/tire on it because it was $499 and covered OE as well as any replacement tires to 72K. 1 tire replacement would pay for it. It is through Zurich as an underwriter.

Now, I lost that gamble as I have 58K and have yet to have used it (and will hopefully be in the GLS in 2 months).
