As a kid, I always wanted a Mercedes Benz. Today, after a long wait, that dream became a reality.
Back in March I was set to buy a '23 GLS450 that was just about to roll off the assembly line. As it was being delivered to the dealership, a box truck backed into it and the vehicle sustained broken taillights and a huge dent in the trunk. I decided against purchasing a brand new, repaired vehicle. Instead, I put in for a custom order on a '24. It look almost 7 months, but it was worth the wait. When they finally put that key in my hand today, it almost didn't feel real. Thanks to many on this forum for their insight ... I learned a lot and thoroughly enjoyed the posts, pics, and anecdotes. Sláinte!
Absolutely gorgeous! I’m so sorry you had an extended wait but it definitely looks to be worth it!
This is the exact same color combination (except for the wood and steering wheel) that I have ordered. The wheels you have are the ones I want, but are currently not available (hoping they manage to snag a set for me before my build locks - they are trying every day).
Congratulations and thank you for posting pics… there aren’t enough good real world pics of the green.

Sorry about the ordeal, glad you waited, worth it for sure, enjoy it in good health!

Congratulations. Lovely combination.
Shame about your original '23 car. I hope the dealership didn't end up selling it on for full price...

Love the green!!! We debated in 2020 between that green and the dark blue, but ultimately came to learn the nearest green was in Oregon while the blue was in Baltimore (and we are in DC), so dark blue it was. We get lots of compliments on it too, as I am sure you will as well with the green!

Thank you, it was repaired and later sold, but the buyer knew. Crazy thing, I found out that it would not generate a CARFAX Report because it wasn't a moving vehicle accident.

Thank you! Honestly, if they still had that Lunar Blue, I likely would have gone with that color ... it is beautiful. I am, however, very happy with the Emerald Green.

It is replaced by nautical blue. It is not the exact same and does each have their own paint codes but if you put the two vehicles side-by-side it is almost identical.

Unfortunately, they do not currently offer the GLS in Nautical Blue. The new Twilight Blue offered for the GLS is a bit too light for my liking.

Sorry for the late reply, just saw your post and ugh that is a shame, why would they not offer nautical blue for the GLS, it was offered on the W223. Both S-Classes, or am I missing something?

GLS is built in Alabama with the GLE, not Sindelfingen with the S Class. I guess they don't carry Nauticual Blue in Vance.
I had two conflicting pieces of information from my dealership today. One told me that our car was finished and awaiting shipment, the other told me that production had gotten delayed to the third decade of the month (never heard "decade" used in that context - days 21-30). Some production hold, apparently...
I guess we're going to have to wait a little longer...
UAW just struck in Alabama at the plant…hope you are “built”
It's a planned plot to justify all those market adjustments. "We are out of parts, but, for a small fee, we can give you an axle that we saved for a rainy day..."

I heard it was their front axle manufacturing plant supplier. My W167 is slated for 10/28. I'm afraid to contact my dealer... What are the odds they have inventory to carry them vs running JIT.

Alabama is a right to work state, legally not allowed to be pinned down by unions. So is TN (VW and Nissan) and SC (BMW). I can’t recall where Volvo is, but I think SC too?
Doesn’t mean a union isn’t present, perhaps UAW itself, but they can certainly hire around them if they wish.
