2024 GLS Features/Wheel Questions
My daily driver is a 2015 S550 that I have 'retrofitted and updated'. One of the main reasons I switched from the X7 to the GLS is due to how comfortable of a ride the S550 is. One of the options that I enjoy most in that car is the multi contour seats that the side bolsters inflate when turning. I ordered every package available on the GLS, including the multi-contour seats. HOWEVER, the front bolsters do not inflate when turning, etc. I have searched ALL of the settings and cannot find anything to activate the option. My local dealer doesn't have an answer either.
Am I missing something here? Is anyone else with a 2024 GLS having the same issues?
Lastly, much to my disappointment, I ordered the 2024 based off of the 2023 spec sheet. When I ordered it, I chose the 23" AMG twin 5-spoke w/ black accents. When I went to pick it up, it had the 23" AMG twin 5-Spoke - all black wheels on it (which I personally do not love). However, I was informed that for 2024, that is the only 23" option.
Does anyone know if the 2023 23" wheels will fit the 2024 model? And if so, is there any type of market if I were to sell the wheels I received?
Thank you in advance for the help!

I share your disappointment, as I also very much enjoy this function in my W222, and wish we had it in our X167.

But at least you can stop trying to figure out how to turn it on, in the GLS.. (sorry)
For any who aren't familiar with the functionality @rangerws is referring to, see the video below, specifically at 0min55sec:

Their labeling of the Active Multi-Contour vs Multi-Contour could be a bit clearer. Has this always been the case for the GLS? Same goes for the AMG version as well?
As disappointing as it is, you have indeed saved me an additional several hours of tearing the car apart looking for it!

I'm not sure why Mercedes decides some models get it and some don't. It must not simply be a matter of price point, since our W212 E-Class (see photo below) did have the "Dynamic" functionality. And having driven newer W213 E-Class loaners, if memory serves, they also can have the "Dynamic" bolster functionality. So I don't know why Mercedes hasn't given it to the GLE/GLS. [insert shrug emoji]
One thing that the X167 seats can do that the W222 seats cannot is "Seat Kinetics," which I've grown to really appreciate on long drives. Not sure if you've played around with that yet...
Enjoy your new GLS!

There are also these for 2024 with "black accents":
It’s worth noting that I also got tricked by the wheel switching to mostly black because the mercedes advertisements and most of the car photos in Dealer Order Guide for the 2024 have the 23” rims from 2023 (not mostly black). By the way, judging by youtube videos taken in other countries it’s possible other countries might still get the style you like and maybe the U.S. is one of the regions that gets the mostly back style 23” wheels.
By the way, in your situation it would be way easier to just get your existing wheels “machine faced.” I looked into getting this done on my wheels and it won’t look as perfect as the factory but it will likely be plenty good enough. For example, the machine facing done by the OEM may have fine grooves and you will lose that with the sort of machine facing I’m suggesting since it basically just sands the face. It’s what I’m considering doing and I’m guessing it will cost $100-$200 per wheel.
