2024 GLS 450 Dashcam purchase
Last night I purchased the one time activation of the Dashcam for the 450 for $200, but nowhere do I see an interface for setting it up or using it. I purchased a 256GB USB type C flash drive but also do not see how to configure it for the dash cam video storage.
Anyone have experience with this?

I just plugged the flash drive in the ubs port in the center console and the dashcam indicator on the screen showed it was recording.

You can install the USB-C flash drive in the USB receptacle located near the console tray for your smartphone.
Got to MBUX Home > Apps > Dashcam
Set up your preferred recording options.
I chose continuous loop, which records in 2 minute segments until the drive is full. At that point the Dashcam app deletes the oldest video files and continues recording. Recording begins automatically when your start your GLS. You can playback the individual video files with the Dashcam app or remove the drive and play with most multi-media players on a PC or Apple computer. Note that the recording includes constant display of your speed.

If I may butt in: How's the quality on these anyhow? I optioned this on my recent build as fitcam/other similar options would have been around the same price anyhow. Is the functionality good? I'm most concerned about for accident footage/brake checks, etc. Obviously don't expect Tesla like surveillance.

Resolution is 1920 x 1280 @ 25 fps with a wide angle lens. Format is MP4. Of course, 4K resolution at a higher frame rate would be preferred, but it should be adequate in case of an accident or anomalous event.

Follow up...
It seems the updating of my purchase took a few hours. The next morning the Dashcam app was available, and like stated above, it brought me to settings where I chose continues loop.
This morning I loaded the flash drive into my MacBook Pro and the video quality was as stated above, 1920 x 1280 @ 25 fps. It's "wide" angle but I would say not more than 120 degrees. No sound of course. The bottom of the video is tagged with date, time, speed and location in lat/lon.
Overall it does what I hoped for and is good value for $200 plus $30 for a 256 gb flash drive.
