Differences between a 2020 & 2024
I have a 2020 which lease ends in May. The new GLS does not seem to have much more features than my 2020. I read it has the dash camera capability that appears similar to what I have in my 2021 S Class but I cannot find any other differences. I’m thinking I may as well just buy the GLS, we like the color combination and I cannot find any GLS580s within 200 miles with a color combo that my wife will accept.
I’ve also received quotes on extended warranty options, both after market and MB and it appears that the MB extended warranty is more desirable.
Can anyone comment on feature differences and warranty options?
THANKS

Having traded my 2020 GLS 450 for a 2024, I have first-hand knowledges of the differences, which truthfully aren't many.
- Improved software--easier to use and more reliable, but not as customizable
- Wireless Apple CarPlay
- Updated front end styling
- More options standard
- With the interior assistant standard, the overhead sunglasses holder is gone
- No passenger footwell net
- No mounts for iPad holders in the back side of the front seats
- A few new exterior and interior colors
- Touch sensitive steering wheel controls

I think they have dramatically decreased the customization options in MBUX - in my wife's 2022 each dial could be customized from a range of options - in the 2024, there's only 4 choices of layout and only the center portion can be customized.
But - it doesn't crash as often, so I guess that's a bonus.

Thanks for the replies!
i don’t believe the changes would prompt my wife to go the 24 unless we found a color combination she liked. She would not utilize any of the software options whereas I kind of like the changes I can make on my S class. The 24 interior looks identical to the 20. If it looked different she would want to update.
Any comments on Mercedes extended warranty?
