Question GLS450 buying advice

Hello all,

Shopping for a 2020+ GLS450, our budget is $45-50K.
Minimum requirements-
Not Black interior
Not Black exterior
Adaptive Cruise Control
Massage Seats
Panoramic sunroof

Any advice on to which details should I pay attention - will be greatly appreciated.

I found One owner and accident free 2020 GLS450 with fully loaded with ACC, Massage Seats, HUD and E-Active Body Control 50,000 miles for $52K
Is this a good deal for USA in April 2024? Or should I avoid Active Body Control?

Thanks

Make sure it also has trailer hitch (even if you have no plans to tow anything) and augmented reality camera (not that useful in itself, but it guarantees that your car come with highend MBUX head unit - or alternatively, run the VIN report or check the built sheet for that). 20 or 21" wheels will make your life less complicated given the availability of all-season tire options. Many folks here will advise you to stay clear of eABC. If having additional vents in 2nd row is important for you, go with 4-zone AC. If you want the roof vents in 3rd row, make sure it also has the 5-zone AC. Think very carefully in advance if 6-seat or 7-seat configuration better serves you and choose accordingly. Good luck!

All good pointers by @rayzam!
If you do decide to go for that car, make sure you have the pockets to support E-ABC repair!

I don't remember any reports of EABC failures, or difficulties even.

Just make sure the 50k maintenance schedule was taken care of. If it hasn't been performed, then make sure it's built into the price.

I haven't seen any failures on the forums. 30k on my E-ABC GLE. A friend has 60k mi on his same spec GLE without an issue. I'll note that we do both have extended warranties just in case.

Yes, the car can twerk if you want it to!
I wouldn't want to see the repair bill when that thing goes!

Any reliable source to check MB options by VIN?

Thanks

While E-ABC has the risk of being an expensive failure it does offer a ride quality upgrade. We actually sought out an E-ABC vehicle so I'm going to say it's not a reason to avoid. I will also add trailer hitch unless you know 100% you will never ever want to tow anything or carry bikes/stuff on the back. Retrofitting the OEM hitch cannot be done and aftermarket options are a bit more sketchy. Another E-ABC note, see if the build includes the driver assistance plus pack. That pack is needed to enable road surface scanning for E-ABC.

Is the car you were looking at the one at Universal Auto Group? Very very well equipped car, only thing is it is a VERY early production car which would give me some pause.

Oh wow! Yes, that's the dealer We're giving some pause as well, since it's a 6 seater...
