How to turn off auto-play with carplay
Every time I get in the car, it auto-plays whatever audio app I last opened on my iPhone, be it music, podcast, audiobook, or YouTube. How do I stop this behavior?

I don't stream music from my phone often. When I do then I use Pandora, which doesn't seem to do this. I actually had to create a shortcut to easily restart the music. My understanding is each app handles this on its own. The Music and Podcast apps have a setting to disable autoplay. I have those apps uninstalled, so can't check. This topic has come up before and if you google it, you'll find various ways to stop this. It seems to be inconsistent, though. I think early versions of the apps didn't have a simple autoplay setting to turn it off. But the gist of it is that this is something the phone/apps do, not the car, so it has to be turned off in the respective apps if they have a setting.

Open the Settings and tap Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > Allowed Apps > CarPlay.
