No engine related common issues in the UZ engines but you have a timing belt that needs a $1,500 replacement every 90k miles

I don't disagree that it is expensive, or specifically needs a ton of time, but I've done it and I recall it was about 400-500'sh USD or so at an indy shop. I did that when I fixed the lower gasket oil pan leak, plus parts. I do recall the tech explaining that he used whatever standard software showing that the job takes so many hours. Of course it's more in today's dollars, but still....

That does include the water pump which they always do at the same time.

I could be wrong…that’s just what I recall. It was still more expensive service than most other cars at that time.

Not all the posts since that RMS thread is quite long but I started following it maybe a year ago. Hence the crossing of fingers, I'm hoping that the RMS issue isn't contagious across all the models, and so far it doesn't seem to be but maybe I missed something that you might be aware of?
