Check engine
Can I take my GLS to autozone for the check engine light? Appointments are days from now and as it happened in the past, the light resets itself and then they dnt find anything. It is on now and I know it will go reset by the time they see it next week.

Check for a loose fuel cap. This is a common culprit!

Modern MBs have remote diagnostics, ask your service advisor to remotely diagnose it for you.

Codes don't disappear without a trace anymore. The code and milage at which it was set will still be saved in addition to various parameters at the time of the fault. If you have Xentry it will show all codes snice they were last cleared whether they are active or not.

then why they did tell me last time that they couldn’t find any codes? I called a Monday when the light was on and on Wednesday for the appointment, the light disappeared. They told me they couldn’t find any codes or history of the check engine being on. What’s a Xentry?

Xentry is Mercedes diagnostic tool. When I got mine working and scanned our car I could see all the past faults and when they happened even if they did not trigger a warning.

I find it hard to believe that they found nothing as even our 2011 stores fault history even for simple things like a trailer light being out long after the fault has occurred. Why they said they couldn't find anything is a good question.

Yes, you can take your GLS to AutoZone to scan for codes (check engine light). MB dealers are lower than the bottom of the barrel, on average. Your experience is sadly normal.
