My GLS has started alerting me non stop

I don't even really how to describe this issue but in the last 36 hours my 450 has started doing the "bleep boop" alerts that you would get if the head unit/infotainment had a system or traffic or weather alert for me but there are no alerts, just the notification. It started out as an annoyance but now it's driving me insane.
Has anyone else had this happen and if so what was the solution? Is there a way to just turn the alert tone off completely that I'm not aware of? I'm really trying to avoid a dealer visit over this but I can't stand being in the car right now.

Very strange, is it a sensor type alert sound, like pre-collision assist, active brake assist, lane departure assist, blind spot, traffic assist (navigation related), or something else? I am also suspecting Car-to-X alerts, that is part of traffic alerts I think.

Check all of the exterior sensors and windshield for dead bugs and other things that can get on the sensors. For me, if I get the rear bumper dirty the sensors go off far more often. An easy way to tell what one is *****ing - there are lights on the dash for the front of the car, on the head liner (in a bad spot) for the rear that will indicate what one of the sensors is setting it off....

Oh, and the middle of the MB emblem in the grill...make sure that the entire MB grill emblem is clean.

My G550 did this a couple days ago -- two events of an audible double beep about 10 minutes apart, but with no accompanying indicator light annunciation. Ran an OBD diagnostic scan without any conclusion. Who knows? The assumption that the fault detection system is more reliable than the systems being monitored for malfunction is false. Maybe the next generation design will include fault detection of the fault detection system -- DTCs that report errors in DTCs.

Appreciate the replies.

It's the generic "system alert" tone from the head unit. It is not an alert tied to any safety system or sensor. Although I suppose a sensor could be the trigger. It's the bleep bloop or dun dun, (however your ears hear it) in quick succession when it allegedly has something to tell you. When working correctly a visual alert notification will accompany it on the top right corner of the head unit. But there is never any message or visual notification, just the audible tone. The car doesn't even need to be on. I opened the passenger door last night to get my owners manual out and it did it twice in the time it took me to open the glove box and close the passenger door, key not even in the vicinity. It's maddening.

I once got my car back from a garage in NYC and found fairly late that my ODB-II port was open.

See if your ODB-II port has been tampered with!

Nobody messes with my OBD port but me. If I need to take my car in for a recall, I'll install a lockable OBD port cover on it first.

The car hasn't been out of my possession for months so it's definitely not a port issue. Thankfully today it stopped on it's own just as suddenly as it presented. I appreciate all the replies though 🙏🏼

not quite sure what that sound is, is there a chance for you to record it?

If It starts again I will attempt to. But you would know it if you heard it. It's the only blanket alert in the car. It's not a door chime, it's not a start up sound, it just comes from the head unit when it's got a message for you. Lets pray it doesn't happen again though!

Reason why I asked is I need to know what tone it is, there are different tones for different sounds in this vehicle.

Edit: I mean different tones for different functions/alerts for this vehicle. The parking sensors use different sounds for example.
