The only place I know that has a waste oil certificate from EPA is our local Road and bridge Department. They're full up, not taking anything now.
I'd rather fish.
I don't enjoy working on cars that don't have points and condensers - I'd rather rely on my skills instead of a code reader. Old School.

Just kidding, but I've moved from a a nine-car garage to a two-car garage, don't have the ability to store ramps and 8 mounted tires, and I'd prefer to be On the Road with my car than futzing with it.
Saving $150 every 9 months isn't an issue.
I sold a roll-away tool chest, and I'm going to sell another, leaving me with only one.
These are personal choices, not indicative of poverty/wealth, mistrust of dealers, or inability to do the work, Even though my ASA and factory certifications have expired.
There are these torn rotator cuffs however...
I'm downsizing also -- plan is to eventually have only tools that fit in one of these, and then re-purpose it.

Exactly, I just don't want to do it. I also don't mow my grass, or clean my house, or clean up and mulch my yard. I have a guy that comes and picks up my dog's poop once a week too lol. I'm fortunate that I can pay people to do things that need to be done so that I don't have to do those things.

Things I do like to do I still do myself, I clean the cars because I enjoy that. If you enjoy it then do it!

I don't think I can get there.
It's hard to part with some of those tools. Some passed down from my Grandfather, others bought or modified for a specific, memorable project or car.
I think I'm down to "only" two sets of screwdrivers, although I keep that third set because it was given to me at age 15 by Ernie, who taught me so much about mechanic'n - at the Sinclair station, where I hung out for a year before they hired me.
That set's in the Apprentice Machinist Chest that Grandpa made in 1898 or so. Along with his Yankee screwdriver.

Interesting..... I also like to do things that I do enjoy myself.... I REALLY enjoy mowing the lawn using my zero-turn mower, the Toro TimeCutter with the MyRIDE Suspension... Since we are in a benz forum, seriously, that optional MyRIDE suspension system is the equivalent of E-ABC in Mbenz, lol, but for Toro lawn mowers. You'd think the car guy would stop being a car guy, but no, it also applies to lawn mowers sometimes, lol. This MyRIDE thing is awesome. I still enjoyed mowing my lawn/grass using a push mower in the past. There is something about it....

If I had a yard big enough for a zero turn I would like mowing the grass too!

I actually do like mowing grass. It’s very satisfying. But, it’s the added mental load of having it be something I need to do every week and worrying about it when we’re away etc. It’s easier all around to just have my guy mow it.

Hey, dust control is an important thing, you know!

Have a rancher / farmer (and terrible at both), friend whose wife was shacking up with the neighboring rancher. After a while, she divorced him and moved in with the other guy. My buddy had a small plane at the time, and for years after the divorce, he'd always bring a small bucket of rusty nails to dump over the neighbor's field when he was flying over the guy's property. .

I submit to you that my two year old Spartan KGZ-XD has a better ride than your Toro. The Toro has a nice suspension, but it's not on the same level.
Had to look up the model number (not something I actively keep in mind, and saw the new ones have a ghey spoiler on them). No, don't know WTF the manufacturer was thinking.

Was the "ghey" spoiler designed by Norm MacDonald per chance ?

Hey, I had one of those lawnmowers when I was younger! It was made by a company called Mattel.
But mine wasn't the snazzy self powered version.

Hahahaha! This one blows bubbles too. Very fancy.

What is nice about it is that it folds up and sits right behind the van, when you don't have a lot of space thats a big plus

I look yours up, and I tap out! I fully agree lol; yours appear to have much nicer ride, but I will never ever pay $18K for my weekly 30-min lawn mowing session. It looks like an awesome machine by the way!

They make GREAT products. ALL my lawn and other garage related tools are from EGO except for the lawn mower. Their Zero Turn is expensive yet not as good or even close to similarly priced Toro gas lawn mowers. I would 100% go with EGO though for a push mower and smaller yard, no doubt. I thought about their Ice Snow Blower once until I cheaped out and grabbed Powersmart snow blower from Walmart

I have a hustler mini z zero turn. Have for 17 years. An acre and a half. Has been absolutely bulletproof proof. Their smallest commercial grade that they don’t make any more.
dread having to replace. The same mower class is now about 8k

Mowing about 7 acres with that mower. Takes about 2 hours or about 1:40 hours if I hustle a bit.
I really want to get a finishing deck made to mount to the front a skidsteer (in my case, a telehandler). Spartan makes a nice looking 90" deck, but they're pretty proud of it. Other manufacturers make decks as well, so not stuck on Spartan.

By the way, my Honda gas mower that I had ~6 years ago had a standing parking-position just like that EGO.

Most don’t though, and if you fold them up like that you’re going to have gas everywhere. For small yard tools electric is just a lot easier to deal with IMO. Big ride on and zero turns are another matter.

Yeah Honda was proud of that lawn mower design. They have sealed oil sump and sealed crankcase breather (there’s no open breather). Ironically I bought it for ~400 USD or so in 2019, and just last year I sold it used for 420 USD!! Never used it from from 2021-2024.
