TPMS Temperature Reporting?

I recently purchased a new GLS450 - it has the optional 22"" rims which will be replaced with something smaller for winter use with all-season tires (but keeping the same overall tire diameter).

I noticed that the car's system reports both tire pressures AND temperatures. I assume the temperature dats comes from the TPMS sensors, but not sure.

When fitting the winter rims with new TPMS sensors, will all/most sensors report both pressure and temperature, or is the temperature data unique to the MB OEM sensors (which, of course, cost about 3X more than any other replacements)?

Does anyone have any first hand experience with any of the OEM equivalent/programmable sensors - do they also report temperatures? If so, do you know which brand/model was used?

C450, GLS 63 and a few other things
There are sensors that do temp and some that don't. You don't need the Mercedes ones, you just need the ones that work -- I believe 433 Mhz universal ones with temp should be good.

I think i used these: https://www.autohausaz.com/pn/HU-0009054104 which I believe are the exact Mercedes ones without the Mercedes logo and like half price of ones from a MB dealer -- but there are some on Amazon and the cheap Chinese sites that are even cheaper that should also work. Many of the "universal" type will work, but require programming, which a tire dealer can probably do.

We have TPMS from Costco in our winter wheels and they report tire temp. They are also more responsive than the MB OEM sensors. No idea what brand but the order form says 5001 433MHZ TPMS SENSOR.

When we got the tires mounted the tech said they were one of their standard universal TPMS. They did have to be programmed, but it is a one time deal and part of the Costco install.
