GLS 63 AMG
If you are driving in comfort mode, throttle response is smoother and more tame than Sport and Sport+. Shifting is also less aggressive. I don't feel like the car is too powerful at all. Considering its size, its easy to drive and park. My previous owners wife was driving my GLS63.
It's actually pretty tame to drive. In fact, I think it is too tame (particularly in comfort mode). Stepping on a the gas from a stop light or something it is drama free and not overly fast. You need to get get the RPM's up with braking to really launch it.
Also, since it handles very well for its size, it actually is actually better than most large SUV's from a driving safety perspective.

Personally I drive in Sport+ all the time. Also, you can configure Individual mode to the settings you prefer. For instance, you like sport+ handling, but want Sport mode throttle, no problem.

But it turned out to be visibility, not power.
When I finally got her in the seat, I could see that her seating position was way too low. She couldn't see the road in front of the car very well.
We spent time adjusting everything - mirrors, steering wheel - but mostly the seat height.
Once we got her visibility right, her confidence went up and she drove it like a champ.
Are you coming from an M4?
It took forever to get my wife to drive my GLE 53. She was kind of intimidated.
