Surprised no one has said anything yet, but it looks
much better than I thought!
Thanks OP for the post.
I wish they put the GLC EQ screens without those bezels and instead of 3 separate screens but yay for keeping the climate control buttons, just to add so info, more on the (previously) discussion here, since they both have similarities, the GLS was also discussed https://mbworld.org/forums/gle-class...ml#post9277164
Those stars are just too gaudy and "look at me"! Also, those air vents look tiny. I wouldn't be surprised if cooling is an issue in summer.
The pictures appear to represent a "Night Package" but the wheels aren't blacked out.

I don't understand why MB only showed one GLS and only at the last minute of the presentation, all attention was on the V167 GLE.
I don't dislike it but I do like the current one better, especially from the rear...don't like the black bar in between the taillights.
Also, do the headlights look too big? When everybody else is using LED tech to make slimmer, more aggressive headlights it seems to me MB is making them bigger and bulbous looking.
The GLE will be more of a volume seller. It's on my short list for a 3rd car.
I am curious how the VLE will affect the sales of the GLE moving on forward, then there is also the VLS coming out later, assuming some of which buy the GLE because they needed more passenger space. A van might suit that better in that case.
Ans there you go.. Mbenz keeps ruining great cars and launching uglier designs. I’ll have to see it in person to see if it looks just that bad in person or if it’s just the photos.

Van isn't going to steal any meaningful sales away from SUVs. Its a niche product for sure.

Did not realize it was discussed elsewhere. Yes I agree, why couldn’t they do the GLC EQ screen. The bezels are ridiculous, but it’s still a welcome!

Also, I was hopping that the E-ABC would become available on the 450 as other brands offer it for the inline-6. The new standard “Cloud-based” suspension seems to be just a gimmick (collecting road data via the cloud and storing). Other brands are doing that on the fly. Nonetheless, using the “cloud” name is a nice marketing approach in the context of suspension, but I doubt it will have any significant impact on ride quality. What we need is a “cloud ride” now a “web-based cloud”.

True. I didn’t expect that. That was the worst part in my view besides the new front design. I am not a fan of the older/outdated separate screen layout just like the new S class and previously the EQS. I was hoping for the new system from the GLC.
The Non-AMG Line GLS will finally come with classic grill and hood ornament!!
Come on man… Are they blind or what. Am trying to like it cause I might be forced to be in it one day. Something is very odd about the headlights and grill just like other models.
What's that you say, your turn signal bulb is burnt out and you can't pass state inspection until it's fixed? Sure, we can replace the bulb. That'll be $7,900 please, because we can't just replace the bulb, we have to replace the entire light fixture for which the $0.05 bulb lives in.
The rear looks like an Atlas now with the black piece spanning the entire rear end.
I don't hate it, but I certainly wouldn't be trading in an older GLS X167 for it, that's for sure.
This car has ruined me however on cars. Took this photo today after putting it in "summer mode" with swapping out the hard top for the soft top, and took a nice drive to enjoy the cherry blossoms in my area. I'm sorry, but all of the techno wizardry, 0-60 in 4.5 seconds, 1g turning grip, napa leather, etc, can't compare to an arm out the window with the 85 degree breeze in your hair, and not a care in the world between the ears. Nearly 2 years and 20,500 miles of just pure enjoyment. Mercedes needs to make a car with a soul that people can afford to (1) buy and (2) live with.

To be fair, LED bulbs rarely ever fail.

True but the reason I mentioned it was because back then, a few years ago? We had a thread of someone with a GLS having to go back to a minivan because they needed more space.
Back to the GLS though, I am not sure what to think about those wheels, it is a little too off road look, weird spec they used as a demonstrator. I wonder if monoblocks will look better?

Depends on the quality of the LED and assembly though. I've had plenty of them fail around the house and an aftermarket part on the Ford due to cheapness. Eventually they all wear out, and I've seen a couple of MB's of my era lately (2020) with one side not working. Not sure why (presume damaged at some point).
I agree with the comment on the headlights getting bigger and bigger! Looks a little like a kid wearing swimming goggles!
In an automotive OEM context though these LED lights are reliable and long lasting. Even in a home application, quality LED lights are very long lasting. I have almost all Phillips HUE LED lights in my house and I have never had one fail. Not one and many of them are 5 years old.
The previous GLS pre FL and the first facelift are all LED lighting also, I don’t recall reading of any failures.
The more videos I watch, the more I hate it. The front design is terrible and I am very disappointed despite being VERY excited for it. It’s sad that I don’t even think I’d want to own it given these asthetics, even if it’s the only decent SUV available.
However, the new GLE front design is better, though not great. At least, it’s much more acceptable and comes with the PHEV inline-6 option.
For the GLS, I’d rather be in a 2026 first-facelift over this second facelift.
