Ok Benzo, I tracked it down.... 12.7 - and the video was pretty cool too!! But with two passengers you would have probably been around 13 and you said you've seen C4S' do low 13's and there is at least one on Dragtimes that is 12.9 so I'm failing to see how there was such a visual difference in the video.... And as for lining up against a stock E55, on paper it seems like it should beat you by about as much as you should be able to beat a C4S, so you'd get left like you left that C4S in the video I guess

Not trying to be an ***, but call your "kills" for what they are.... It's ok to have killed some guy even if he isn't trying or if he screwed his launch, cause either way he's still hopeless :v

Listen 12.7 is a killer time and you definitely KILLED the hell outta those guys (Clint Eastwood line from Unforgiven), but we got E55 guys at Moroso running 12 flat on stock Conti's running near bone stock.

Sure wouldn't be a blowout, but I am sorry, a good driver of an E55, with the skill you sound like you have, should be able to pull off the W on you running 12.7.

No flaming required...you killed, we are all proud, great job.....but when you start straying into beating us in the W211's, welllllllll....

Cars and boats!
im not putting down any E55s.... but when you put a good holeshot on your average E55 driver its going to be tough to catch!!! Mind you, I said I posted one of my times...which was a 12.7!!! Power for Power a 211 E55 should beat me...but ive ran across a couple of people (none that I know personally) who dont knwo how to launch the damn things. BTW, this is my last post on this thread which has turned into a childs playground... its pointless to argue!! And about my race with the 211 E55, I never posted about it nor have I gave any details b/c it will obviously turn into a *****storm of over-analyzation. I just realized how stupid and redundant "Kill Story" like sections are in forums like MBworld, Bimmerforums, E46fanatics, etc....

Benzo: Don't go female on us. You (and I) like to post kills and times. . . we should expect that people will challenge/disagree. It is all in the spirit of this forum.

For what it is worth, I have no doubt that a modded C32 could open up a can-o-wupass on a 211 (or a C4, for that matter), given unequal driving skills. Apples for apples, however, a stock 211 will walk the average modded C32, and apples for apples a C4 should give a modded C32 a decent run, with the advantage to the C32.

Just concede that you totally stomped the C4 because the C4 driver was a Republican (or other form of retard) and we will all be happy

BenzoAMGpower,

You have been called out, and thats why you don't want to respond! That race with the C4 is NNNNNOOOOOOOO race. Get real. Lance Armstrong would have given you a better race. I think vomit, mrankovic, toothdoc, and everyone else called you out! I for one will never believe another "Kill" story - LOL from you again. Now let me go out and get my video camera and videotape me racing anything, as long as they aren't actually racing!!!!!
Your 1/4 mile time is 12.7, and a C4 does it in 12.9-13.0. Man, that explains you beating it by 15 car lengths.LOL And you will NOT beat a E55 UNLESS again they aren't racing you..................................

Newbie: Please do not put words in my mouth. I had no intent on "calling out" anyone. IMO, the C4 driver, as I said before, was either extreme tard or not racing. Since Benzo says that the guy was talking sheet, then he (the C4 driver) must have bogged or otherwise blown his launch. Benzo might be a little overly-optimistic about his/his car's abilities, but a little overconfidence is a good thing. While we would all like to believe that we win races because of our skill or because our car is invincible, the reality is that many "kills" are simply the result of the other driver killing himself.

I also believe that Benzo nailed a 211 from a dig. I have trolled the 211 section now and then, and there are guys running the 1/4 in over 13 seconds. Why is it hard to believe that Benzo, who appears to be skilled in launching his C32, could toast one of the less-talented 211 drivers in a stoplight race? If it were my money on the line. . . Benzo in his modded C32 vs. Average 211 Driver, it would be a tough call. I guess that I would probably bet on the 211, but not by much. I certainly wouldn't "bet the farm" or give odds on either outcome.

I believe Benzo was quoting 1/4 mile times. Even an average W211 E55 driver should pull a low to mid 12. However Benzo's best time was a 12.7. Which probably means he's usually on the higher end of the 12 second bracket. I'm pretty confident that even a under average W211 driver would take a modded C32. He himself said a modded (headers, chip, and pullies)C55 should beable to take his car.

Looking at the E55 section, it looks like the fastest "best" times are basically a 12 flat for a stock 211. Slowest "best" 211 times are in the low thirteens. Actually, I think I saw that someone posted a 14, but this is obviously way outside of the norm. Average "best" time for a stock 211 looks to be about a 12.4.

For modded C32s, fastest "best" time is a 12.5. Slowest "best" times are in the mid thirteens.

In other words, the average "best" time for a stock 211 looks to be about 1/2 second faster than the average "best" time for a modded C32. This translates into about 7 carlengths in the 1/4 mile.

However, remember that the average street run (which is what Benzo was talking about) is waaaay shorter than a 1/4 mile. In a short run, it will be very much of a driver's race. From 0-60, for example, I would bet that, with equal drivers, a stock 211 would pull a modded C32 by maybe a car or two. Throw in a slightly more skilled C32 driver, and it's even. Throw in a less-than-skilled 211 driver and you have Benzo's outcome.

OK Guys listen to this

My friend just picked up a 2001 C2 cab. We lined up togather on the street for three quick runs. I was in my 01 CLK55, and 1st run completly left him, and I just figured he had a bad start. 2nd run I was so far ahead that I could comfortably go in front of him. Same for the 3rd. However on the highway there is no keeping up. Forget about it. I own the streets though :v

I've done the same too with my CLK 55. But, I've never run one at real high speeds. I did like a 20 - 80 mph roll and walked it. P cars just aren't made for the street. They weren't designed for stop light to stop light racing.

Right now while my wheels are being repaired I've been driving my brother's 996 C2 vert. Although it lacks the torque down low, it kicks *** up top, but I'm not sure to wait degree of "kick ***" it is. The only car I've encountered was a modded e36 m3. Which in all honesty was no contest. Oh yeah and some dumb ricer in a Neon Srt-4 and a TL Type S(hit).

I'll just look for a modded C32 to do a couple of runs before my E55 isn't stock anymore. I haven't had any real seat time in the W211, because it has yet to be be delievered. (Hopefully sometime next week! Keeping fingers crossed!) So, I would probably fall in the under average 211 driver, and we'll see what happens. Any San Francisco Bay Area heads have a modded C32 that wouldn't mind doing a few runs in the near future?

Drive 300 miles to suck E55 exhaust?? Sounds tempting, but I will be getting my hair done.

Trust me he got up to about 150-160 in a hurry. My car started to shut down @ 145 and he just walked on me. His car handles the curves so well, and instills more confidence than the CLK55, I even upgraded the system.

Reason being is that your car is limited to 155mph. The Porsche came from the factory with no limiter. They max out at about 174 mph if I remember reading the owner's manual correctly.

Also, I'm aware that the Porsche's handling is superior to the CLK. They're built to be driven on a track. Apples and oranges. But, a modded (intake, chip, headers, pullies) n/a 55 should be able to take a 996 (non turbo) even on the high end. I read on another post a simple chip that takes the limiter off can get you pretty close to 180 mph. But, that's yet to be proven.

I am surprised that the P-car would pull away at higher speeds. What is the unregulated top speed of the CLK55?

1. Do those chips screw anything up I know how sensitive these cars are (check engine.

2. I supose you would then need new gauges because the stock set only shows 160

Haven't had any problems with my car, so I believe it's a rather safe mod. Also, if you toggle around with the steering wheel buttons you can get a digital reading of your speed on your cluster.
