Me vs. about 2500 cars
I come over a hill -- lots of brake lights ahead. I'm in the left-hand lane; there's an exit an eighth of a mile down on the right. Eclipse is past the exit. Traffic up there is stopped. GS300 is a next to me in the right lane.
Check the screen -- US90 parallels I10 here, then curves north to go around Columbus. Check mirrors. Brake. Move right. GS300 exits. Follow him off. Get to the stop sign. GS300 goes straight across. COMAND tells me this just goes back to the freeway -- not the best idea, in my opinion. Turn left to Alt 90. Go around Columbus, and 90 rejoins 10. No traffic here -- smooth sailing all the way to Houston.
Next day's newspaper says that the traffic jam (caused by an accident in Columbus) was 5-10 miles long. I figure I killed about 2500 cars in 15 minutes.
The race is not always to the swift, but sometimes to the smart.
