Rafi is a great guy and I look forward to meeting him on track at some point in the future.

I hit the track twice a year at most (to date), so another meeting of the W208 vs W209 AMGs will have to be waged bewteen some other players for the time being.

Got kinda sick of reading this thread. But on 1/9 South, I raced some Asian guy in a silver W208. Took him out by about a car length twice, off the line. It may be close, but the W209 is the clear winner.
No hatin' here, I like the W208's styling a lot. But this is empirical evidence that W209 is quicker.

And strictly scientifically speaking, these results are more anecdotal than empirical, given that you don't have actual measured times.

Everyone is entitled to opinion, and I see that you have the W208.
I agree that other factors may come into play. One car length at 40-50 MPH may have indeed been too close to call. You're right, it may just have come to driver reaction time.
But one thing:
em·pir·i·cal ( P ) Pronunciation Key (m-pîr-kl)
adj.
Relying on or derived from observation or experiment: empirical results that supported the hypothesis.

I just wish we could see some more strip results for the 209; I, unfortunately, have never managed to find one to run, and so I don't have any anecdotal

Hey, have you taken yours to a strip yet? Are you close to Chappy?

Would love to take it to the strip but they're all closed...
Nah, I think Chappy is in Atlanta....
I love playing semantics... It's part of my profession. Not really.
