Btw; Nice kill But, This is exactly what I've been looking for. I haven't seen many of the 65's running around these streets. Anyhow, I'd love to get a chance to see it in person and maybe get a chance to play around with the “Uber SL” a little and take some photos *Assuming Break-In is done and over with * Anyways, I'll send you a PM with details and hope that we can arrange something in the near future.

PS: By any chance are you familiar with the Key Biscayne area?
Are you trying to hit on him????

Cool

I travel to downtown miami every now and then, or to go to the heat games, but that's about it. My wive loves the Ferrari, but chose the Benz for everyday driving.

We should definitely get together some time, I just moved into a home in Key Biscayne about 2 months ago and we try and make it every other weekend. We keep trying to have a South Florida GTG but it always seems to die out or rain at the last minute We defiantly need to get one legitimized soon.
Btw: What else do you have tucked away in your stable? :v

Thats it for now. Considering a Bently GT, or maybe the DB9.

Classics... But IMO; I would just go for a used Vanquish with less than 10K on the clock. By the time your out the door with a DB9 if you don't mind a used car they'll be in the same range What F-Car are we talking about here

To reiterate what some have stated, 03+ Cobra's are very potent with minimal mods and, because of this, few are "stock." There are MANY stock block (valve covers have never been off) Cobra's in the 11's and even a few in the 10's. Basic bolt-on's are enough to dip into the high-11's for these cars and an aftermarket blower (or turbo) means 10's if done right. Again, this is with the factory forged lower end.

With that said however, price does not make a difference. It should always be "run what ya brung" and the $180k v. $30k is a moot point. If we all were worrying about 1/4 performance per buck, we'd be in Foxbody 5.0's, LT1's, LS1's, or on crotch rockets.

Exactly.

And I'll likely be buying a LT1 Camaro next year. Performance for the poor.

And LT1?? Why not an LS1 Camaro, or a Camaro body and then drop a 427 in, or a 383.

Go for an LS1. They can be had for cheap now and much easier to squeeze power out of.

I'm a Ford guy myself. I'll most likely find a 4 cyl. Foxbody roller and go from there (as a project)...

996 C4, previously owned 996 c2, c32 amg, 350z, R33 GTR, R34 GTR
Here in England most of these cars you guys mention would get spanked, the roads are never really dry...

Can you launch a 800 bhp SL65 on a greasy road? Dont think so...
WHat happens when you get to bend....terminal understeer.

Evo`s, STi`s and GTR`s are the real world performance kings..

But I guess on warm california evenings, its good to have a 4 dr Benz that will give real sports car a good run

Cool

Maybe that's why course times are more important to you guys and sprint times dominate american novice drivers. Or maybe it's because Americans dominate the 100 meter more than any other country in the world. LOL

Once again, price doesn't always go hand in hand with performance. Like my previous example, think C6 Z06 and RR Phantom.

Most people that own Cobra's could replace a crank shaft.
Most people that own MB's can't identify the wiper fluid tank, but would rather pay someone to find it.

I rather have a drink with a Bud drinkin', cowboy boot wearin, NASCAR watchin, redneck than a fruit loop, Merlot sipping, Euro queer pancake with a SL65.

But I'm just a sane American, what do I know?

As it turns out, nothing much.

Cobra owners need to know how to replace the crankshaft because it always f**ks them over, MB owners could careless because the crankshaft is still strong 20 years after the Benz was bought.

Actually my Mercedes had an entire transmission/radiator/torque converter replaced this spring. The car was slightly younger than 20 yrs (its a 2003 actually) but it did have high mileage for a Mercedes now-a-days, 29K, so I expected things to start going wrong.

While the car was in the shop for 3 weeks, i declined a POS loaner and drove the 18yr old GT. Still has the original trans, torque converter, and radiator. Who'd a thunk it huh?

If you can't acknowledge that MB quality is a hair better than dog ****, you're more dense that I thought.

How about the wiper fluid container? You must be still looking for it....
