Wow now thats descriptive!!! Time, day, weather conditions etc etc... Im just busting your *****, I know the road and can figure what the conditions were when it happened

aite aite..
it was around 9 PM, heading west on storrow drive (2-3 lane)
no rain..just the regular fall weather...
approached an M3 (E46), highbeamed him...pulled beside him..rolled down my window....stared at him..the gassed...
he didnt bite..
i just kept on going...then suddenly I see his xenon lights getting closer! He decided to put up a little race..
I downshifted to 4xxx RPM...when he passed me I gassed full.
Overtook him when we entered a downhill tunnel (one of those tunnels because there is a bridge on top)
I almost lost control because of losing traction going down hill, but i beat him!

is your car modded? cause i've raced a friend w/ a C55 numerous times, and they're pretty dead nutz even - we both have a passenger, mine's a 6 speed coupe. actually, I get him off the launches, pull about a car length, and stay even all the way to 110. he ever so slightly gains maybe a 1/4 car length, but each shift I get the 1/4 back.
did u race a vert? in this case, nice kill
but if it was a coupe, i'm not totally convinced, especially since he had the jump and passing you. you need 55k power to pass a car like that after they're passing you. you need a lot more HP to pass a car after it has a decent speed advantage.
perhaps he let off early, considering you were going downhill sliding around?

p.s.) The C55 is a little bit lighter than the CLK55 and therefore ever so slightly quicker, but not enough so as to make my point invalid. I'm willing to bet that in the real world the difference between the C and CLK are all but neglible (Like how an E55 estate is actually slightly quicker than the coupe)...

an m3 and na 55 (c, clk) are dead even
my brothers got an m3smg
he pulls at launch and by 1/4 mile were dead even with me having a higher trap speed
