What's with the demand for a quality retort from a lacking statement from the beginning? I suppose the OP should crack open a book of wise comments and replies to provide a worthy, well respecting counter-point to a lackluster comment?

The whole business about knocking off an F150 like youre some badass going up against a Ford GT is why this has become nothing but a tosser thread. You sound like your 12, and this little toy daddy bought you is the coolest on the block.

Bragging about taking a pickup truck is like saying you muscled a shopping cart away from some old lady at the grocery store.

BTW, when youve got the music bumping really loud, is the car faster or slower? You gotta nice car kid...don't ruin the experience by overselling it, or sounding like some ghetto talking too fast and way too serious wannabe.

I would think using tiptronic would actually help in acceleration because Mercedes (non AMG) vehicles start in second gear.

This is incorrect. The ones above 97 with the electronic tranny's start in 1st. Mine, for instance is a 99, and it starts in 1st unless you put it in W mode, I believe this starts the car in 2nd. Either way, they do start in 1 st now.

Maybe you misread my post and grasped the wrong concept. The C230 is relatively a slow car. I posted " Is there something wrong here", meant how come the F-150 didn't beat me, I expected the the truck to over take me. Second, this isn't suppose to be in the kill stories section, the moderator moved it here(It was in the W203 Section). This post was a question, not a bragging thread. So the comments your posting is irrelavant to the whole subject. My music is bumping loud because that's the way I like my rock music, but it's not bumping to the point where it disturbs the people around me. Outland stop over analyzing other peoples post.

So back to my original question, why did the F-150 Ford lose to me. A Ford F-150 has 248HP/331 Lb's torque this is at the fly wheel specs. Okay so lets apply Drive train loss(22%) 194HP/258 Lb's Torque. With that much spare torque the truck should've easily over taken me beginning and end.

This is what happens, when things get shuffled.

Regarding your question as to why the C230 didn't get snuffed. There are many different parameters affecting the outcome in a race. Weight, the condition of each engine, driver ability, etc.

He undoubtedly has a longer stroked motor than you, thus a lower power peak as well as a narrow torque spread. This limits his gearing efficiency, and his truck should appear to lose greatly at higher speeds(due to this, and drag of course).

I don't care if you're in a 220D racing a semi,...I want to hear about it. A little variety, once in awhile, is good for the soul.

If you dont care just simply leave this thread and go onto the next one, why post useless things like this. Stacking up post counts?

Just a couple interesting side notes just to lighten things up around here:

The motor in the f150 lightning is the same one they use in the the GT40.

I have tried spinning my tires on a dry day with power braking and esp off. They did not spin because of three things I think: 1)yes this car doesnt have a whole lot of power 2) my tires are almost brand new Pilot Sports (pretty decent traction) 3) the esp still comes one because it blinks telling you that it is still working.

So much drama concerning the C230 .

Anyway, to add my .02 for Cappa's sake. I took a debadged dark blue 3-series ('01 if I were to guess) on my way to picking up my cousin from school. After making a left we just somehow lined up on a roll from 30mph (the sweet spot ). He never got a chance to look at my rear, else he might have expected it). We gunned it together and I pulled ahead to 50mph, enough so he can clearly see the euro plate from ~car length and we ran out of pulling room.

Of course the guy had a friend in his car telling him to do it, though once he caught a look of my rear, heard the whine, observed the distance, no more lining up . I gave him the peace sign and he made a left .

We lowly C230s can still do some damage .
