These are my worst nightmare around here besides STI's.
The vehicle on the dyno before mine (day before)......over 1200ft lbs of torque tricked out diesel pickup. They are ALLLLL over here. You know it's one of them when the tail pipe is LITERALLY 8-12 inches in diameter. They mostly punch it from redlights and kill most people, then let off. Most don't have the full setup like this guy to get it to top end.

TSperformance.com has a lot of these mods adding 150hp with only computer. They are located in Bowling green as I am. Lots of the powerstrokes here with totally black exhaust trails

I was driving in the ML, and there was this Ford F-350 that had some serious modding. It soudned like a frickin semi. Well, when the light turned green it started at about 2 car lengths away, then 5, then 8, and we never caught up. Sad thing is, it was pulling a trailer (empty though).

One day I was driving next a Dodge Ram with the new 600 Cummins. That thing was a monster, had a blow off valve that sounded like it alone can push the truck. He also had a chip that he claimed added an extra 100 hp and like 200 lb-ft, it comes stock with 600 lb-ft... Those things are no joke!

Those Diesels are the new era of speed with Gale Banks leading the way, 600 to 900 hp and above with massive amounts of torque they are hard to beat in the 1/4 mile! Power to weight ratio makes them a complete package for speed.

I also wonder about the hook up. I mean, aren't these things usually really light in the rear??

Maybe he has all wheel drive, Pickups are light as hell in the rear and it would take nothing to light up the tires and there wasn't much tire spin on the jump, whatever he has looks as though he was fired out of a slingshot! E55 never had a chance and those cars are fast off the line. Decent gas mileage and 12.7 in the 1/4 not bad at all!

Decent gas mileage?
I also have a Duramax truck. Its a pig, especially compared to the CDI. It might get 12 mpg if I'm easy on it.
Sometime last year I posted on another thread about how a Duramax truck could spank a CDI Benz up to about 60 MPH. Nobody believed me.
But its true, those modded trucks really are torque of the town.
And the towing power is just staggering. I have towed with my C5500 Duramax up to 32,000 lbs combined weight (truck plus trailer) and the Duramax does not complain. That's the weight of 8 E-class Mercedes automobiles.
