ML55 vs E430
i raced my friend in his e 430, i was driving my dads ml55. we raced up to about 70-80
the cars were dead even, every time a car would shift it would drop back and then catch up when the other car shifted. it was very interesting. i think up to 90 they would stay the same and then the e would pull away b/c of drag
both cars were stock
i was going fishing w/ 3 friends
we loaded up the ml, full of gear/food/liquor :p , and set out at about 530 going north on the 405. after a while we were up in the "mountains", the elevation was about 4000 maybe 5. i dunno. but it was high, i could fell the car not pulling as hard. there was a clear road and i floored it, got up to 120 relatively quickly and then the agonizing climb began, 123,124,125..... got it up to 135, while taking some bends, every1 in the car was very quiet, it was kinda funny.
4 passengers
full of fishing gear/ other ****
very high elevation
135mph and still pulling...very very slowly
True the ML55 is heavy, but it's got alot more HP, plus the E430 is no lightweight. Hmmm.

Spooled up my turbo and opened the stable precisely as the light turned green. ML also got a good launch. The CDI instantly pulled about a car length, then it was about even until 80, at which time the CDI progressively walked the ML, more and more as speeds climbed. At 120, ML was way back.
Still, I was impressed, pretty fast for its size. I would hate to buy gas for it as a daily driver.

It took me 30 minutes to cross 1/2 a mile, 1/4 of that mile was up a bridge, I got like 8-9mpg.. My ML gets poor mileage... I coast and do all these things to aid the fuel consumption and lessen brake wear ( I went down to 50% pads in 4500 miles) and I still only average 12-13mpg most times.

That turd is lucky to get 12 mpg. And that's highway.
Its about the same weight as the ML and has probably half the horsepower and torque.
