ML55 vs. Nissan Maxima

ML55 vs. Nissan Maxima
I had a fun race with a friend of mine from my English class, he has an 02 modded Nissan Maxima GLE, 255hp, Has an intake on it, and strut bar. So we line up in front of my school, perfect 2 lane road that runs for about 1/4 mile. We go off rolling from 5mph, we are neck and neck, and at around 70 we run out of room due to traffic. Okay round 2, we get on the BQE, he gets infront of me, we get a free two lanes, he guns it, I gun it, Im not gaining until 85mph, where I reel him in, and at 95 I pass him, by the time I get up to 110 I am 3 car lengths ahead of him. I win. Ok here comes the incredibly stupid part. When I hit 110, I was upcoming on a long 30-40 degree turn, with plenty of bumps.. I manage to slow to 80-85, I have to wrestle the ML to keep it under control, it felt as if it was drifting. My friend later pulls up to me and tells me that I was a tripod for a second.. 
I am not racing like that ever again. Lesson learned.

I have been in similar situation with a nissan Altima 3.5, I lost him @105 and ran into slower traffic...trying to negotiate that monster above 80 is a challenge...I broke out in a cold sweat! Afterwards I felt the same way you do....WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING although the adrenalin rush was incredible! On the BQE!, you got *****!

this is why you need your brakes replaced at 4500 miles!! 
nice kill, did the car give you ESP warning when you 3 wheeled it? well if you dont know never mind, i wouldnt expect someone to be looking at their dash going that fast in an ML on a turn...

I've had an Oh ***** moment in just about every car i've owned. 
There were times where I'd take the ML out and forget I'm in an SUV. And to answer alboogiee's question, yes, ESP blinks like hell when that happens. :p

I got soooooo sidways in the loaner 230K last night coming home from the bar (was not drinking). It was rediculous, I couldn't beleive I got that thing that sideways with those rims, wide *** tires, and suspension. ESP did about NO GOOD! Crazy.

Maxima's are nothing to be racing against when you have a regular car. Not an AMG. Had a '97 Maxima myself, pretty powerful even though it was a V6. 0-60 was at about 7.9-8.0. Imagine a modded one. A seriously modded one.
