I Got Mistaken for a C230 today by a BMW 325i

Today I was on my way home getting off of I-95 onto Gatlin Blvd.
there was very little traffic and there was a silver BMW at the red light about 100ft ahead of me.

The light turned green before I had to stop. The BMW tore away from the light and then slowed down. He seemed to be waiting for me to get next to him. I was going the speed limit 35mph.
When my front fender was next to his rear door he down shifted and hit it. So I thought what the hell why not and did the same he was 3 cars ahead of me by this time. I could see him looking into his rear view mirror and the look on his face as I passed him like he was parked was a Kodak moment. I got just enough ahead of him so that he could get a good look at the back of my C55. When he realised that this was not a C230 he slowed way down and stayed 3 cars back in the lane next to me with no cars in front of him. When the light turned green I proceded to drive normal when I got one of thoes ricer fly-by's from this kid and his girlfreind and he made the first turn off he could.

I really think this kid thought he was playing with a C230

This was no match, I do not think it could even be called a KILL with a straight face.

It did liven up a boring ride home.

Assuming you can get traction, you could have probably beat him in reverse.

no traction at all, I turned off the ESP before I hit the gas. I think I was still spinning when I passed him

lol, C55 vs 325i.... that's just funny - C55 has almost exactly DOUBLE the hp - I can't wait till a non-M 3-series picks a fight with me too. Although it won't be a complete embarassment, I will indeed show them some MB tailpipe.

LOL.... if I were you, I would shut off before letting him see your trunk for couple times.... just enough to make him think why he couldn't beat a C230

Never happened to me, though.

i have had many situations like the one you described.

Mostly with Honda Accords, Camry, 325, 330, G35's...

the best one was a 230k silver and black, Woman driving.

she was weaving in and out of traffic and trying to act all tough.

We finally lined up on a light, and I waited for her to punch it. Sure enough she gets out of the hole like she was going to show me up. I gave it about 3/4 throttle and opened like 4 bus lead.. and slowed down.

She proceeded to drive a lot slower after that...

Does anyone know what a 2000 or newer BMW 325i runs in the 1/4?

good kill. gotta love those every once in a while.

91, I go faster in the 1/8th... I hate drivin' 325s, they just feel so sluggish most of the time...
but oh well, at least you put him in his place

no worries, I've got a ton of 3 series, 540s, C230s, IS'es, G35's all thinking I am driving another C230. Punched, vroomed, and smoked. For the most part, they all think the C32 = C320 with sport package. Some of them really looked surprised as I pulled away, but they just haven't done their homework.

i've also had an encounter with a Boxster (non S model) on the freeway. No chance at all ...

When you say no chance you do me the porsche.

I ran a few Boxters & Boxter S when I had my 89 Porsche 928S4 5spd car . they were quicker off the line (the 928S4 has a 2.21 final drive) it was all over for them by 2nd gear

I can tell you that the boxter S is no match either,
