Modded C32 pounds another E46
So, having raced an E46 from a dig (4 cars by end of 2nd gear), from 30 MPH (3 cars by 80), I finally ran up against one this morning on the freeway (52 Eastbound at around 8:00 AM between Convoy and Santo is about as race-friendly as So. Cal. freeways get). Anyways, I was cruising in the fast lane at 80 or so, when the E46 came up aggressively from the rear (probably doing 90 or so). I waited until he was roughly 5 cars back of me and nailed it. As you C32 owners know, flooring it at 80 drops you right into the meat of the powerband in 3rd. Within maybe 3 seconds, his speed advantage was nullified, and the pulling began. By the time we hit the end of 4th (I'll leave the speed calculations to you) I had him by a good 10 cars.
Mods are Evo Stage 1 plus SL55 splitter, plugs, wires, filters, res-delete and roughly 200 lb. weight loss relative to stock C32 (i.e., one with spare tire, stock battery, stock pullies, moonroof, resonator, and stock wheels).
It seems like there are a ton of E46s on the road lately (and they like to race )

good write up.
So... to summarize what just transpired...
you were on the fast lane and you saw a E46 M3 coming fast to pass you... as soon as he was about 5 cars behind you and coming hard, you went WOT and started to pull cars ahead.... up to 10+
You definately have the power to let him even up with you and then let it rip. I could see some trolls munching on your write up, but nevertheless it won't change the outcome.
for the C32

There were cars in the lanes to the right of me, so there was no way that he could pull up next to me. Also, I was getting off at Santo, so did not have time to properly set the race up with two lanes of open freeway. It was either a "train race" or nothing. If anything, this should have helped him slipstream (at least if he had not been falling behind so quickly )

hum, this is the "Kills Stories" I think, he was relating a "Kill Story" where there usually has to be one guy starting it and someone always finishing it... whats the problem here?? So you are saying that since I am modded I cant race an E46!?? Guess I should go take my mods off so I can go and race unmodded cars to have fun ?!?!?

Please go read some of my other "kill" or "got killed" stories and you will see that I am usually the instigator of the runs, many of which I have lost.
"Stupid" is unfortunate. "Ignorant" is worse. The combination is deadly.

Trust me. If it were a frigging 325 or 330, I would have left him alot more than 10 cars behind by the end of 4th gear.

Nobody claims that "the c32 is the fastest car and it can beat any e46 stock or modified." I defy you to show me where any C32 owner has made this statement.
FYI: The stock v. stock race is a crapshoot between the C32 and the E46, as anyone with 1/2 a brain who owns one car or the other will tell you.
There is nothing wrong in posting in a forum that relates to a product which you do not own. The problem comes when you post uninformed absurdities in a forum that relates to a product which you do not own.

AMG
I wasn't sure if I would be able to take an E46 M3 until the other day when I pulled on one even with a weight disadvantage. It was as clear cut a win as I have ever had. We tried to race the guy again , but he didn't want anymore... it was clear even to him that we had the faster car by a decent margin.

The guy in the M3 probably mistaken your car for a regular C Class and wish to pick an uneven fight and got his *** handed to him. Debadging my C55 with a small surprise under the hood was the best thing ever happened to me. I have all kind of cars trying to take on a souped up Stock C class every day.
