CLK 55, vs CLK 320
So i was at the parkinglot of the grocery store looking for a parking spot and i see a black CLK-320 and i figured 'hey its one of my own, i can park next to it with no worries on getting a door ding'. i go inside buy some bread, salami and cheese to make a sandwich, pay for it and i head out. i walk up to the car and these to younger guys (well they were my age, but for some reason i can barely relate to people in my age group) are looking at my car pointing and snickering. and at first it hought 'oh man did someoen back into my car or what?' and as i get closer the guy goes 'you did a good job rebadging, changing the wheels and exhaust' and i just looked at him and im like 'um...what?' and hes like 'cmon man, a 55!?' and im like 'im sorry i dont understand, why would i rebadge? um...yeah' i pop the trunk and put the groceries in, get in, start the car and back out. and just as im backing out, these guys get in thier car (the black clk320). and right front he get go i knew these guys wanted to play stoplight tag with me. im driving home and and im nearign an intersection and the light turns yellow then red, and im the first one in the line, and these guys pull up next to me and roll the window down and start talking....and i roll my window down and i go 'did my badge fall off?' and he goes 'lets go!' the light turns green and i just let him floor it...i wait 1 second and i have at it. i pass them with no effort. at the next light they didnt roll the window down, i just see his friend jumping up and down laughing at the driver. and i just give the guy a look like 'oh, was that just me?' with my hand over my mouth with a look of suprise. the driver was mad, and he went at it again at the green light. i just let him go because i only had .4 gallons left in my tank and i didnt feel like burning .2 trying to prove these clowns that its no 320...but i dont get it..so what if it was? they drove one......i was suprised because no one ever doubted or questioned my car liek that...

Nice kill. I always thought there were more cosmetic changes than just the tires and exhaust to indicate it was an AMG model. Most people who rebadge do not have the whole package! (And of course never the motor!).

Its like a new young kid driving a 325I coupe... they think they can beat anything out there, cuz they are driving a BIMMER.

Well, i've been picked on by nothing less than the famous c-coupes. They are usually purveyed by owners with an inferiority complex or they can't afford anything better, but want to claim they own a Benz.

That is a great kill! Too bad the driver can laugh at your "rebadging" but not be a good sport when beat. At least his passenger was an unbiased spectator. He snickered at your "rebadging" and laughed at the driver for losing! And acting ignorant in return just made the kill even better.

I was driving to my girlfriend's house at about 7 pm a few weeks ago. Someone in a Silver R230 SL (windows blacked out) catches up to me very quickly, but suddenly slows down before even passing my car (I was just cruising along and perplexed by this odd behavior, thinking it was some ******* who wants to prove something). I guess he/she probably saw my "badge" and my black lights. So the car just follows behind me driving much slower than before. "Weird" I think as I make my turn off the main road. Funny because earlier that day, my Dad and I were discussing casually if I would ever want to sell my car and get a newer 500. I hope to hold on to this model, and in a few years maybe get a new V12...
