Come on guys, give the guy a break. He's just telling us what happened and you know anything can happen on the road (given certain circumstances).

Ah, but can you put your top down, and then put it back up while still mantaining warranty?

Husk dude:

If I rolled up on your "pos" race ready E300...I would do the same thing....push it a little to show that my new $100,000+ SL owns you and then ease off and laugh at you trying to race me...sorry dude but your'e going too far by calling a new Mercedes SL a pos...

ease up...they're only cars...but either way I call X 100

It depends.

The E300 turbodiesel is capable of producing up to 250 hp, maybe even 300 hp, depending on how much boost the turbocharger is putting out. It is all ultimately dependent on where the full load stop is currently set at. The newer injection pumps have 7 mm elements allowing for this.

That said, the probability of the engine producing 300 hp is a very scant ratio.

It could be that the fellow in the R230 was engaging his tiptronic transmission and shifting near redline to make you feel like you were winning. Who knows?

I don't doubt you, I wasn't there. But you understand it is very difficult for many to accept this. You SHOULD expect acutely sharp criticism from many.

If you are in fact producing those gobs of power, than you better get yourself an EGT gauge before you melt the internals of your engine.

The R230 is a POS it was rated the most unreliable car of 2005 by Forbes magazine. I am just telling you what happened, and now people are bringing out the personal insults, I have no reason to lie.

LOL, that's just hilarious. I thought your story was questionable and now you just shoved it down the tank. "My father ...", please are you 16? Should I reference God now in my defence?

Nice keyboard **** match though.

I monitor my EGT through "autotap" which is connected to my obd II Computer... I have a mechanical boost gauge which is connected to the boost controller. The Transmission on the diesel is supposedly reinforced and similiar to the 55's as opposed to the 320's, but I am unsure, I read that on the forums a couple years ago. So if the E55 is putting out 349hp and 391 lb ft I think I am safe for now, I have not noticed a huge increase in EGT's but I have an exhaust system being built, that should lower the EGT's further.

Well, I wasn't the guy who called you a pauper or whatever...but I'm 25 and my R230 (which I bought new w/a $102K sticker price) is far from a pos...if you dont believe me ask the model I took home last weekend....LOL

No offense to what you think and all, but the only people who I have ever met that thought the SL was a pos were just jealous and couldnt afford one.

But its nice to know your E300 is so badass...does it have a wing and some neons?

it also has a tow hitch, so I can tow you when your SL breaks down on the side of the road.... Bro you dont even know me or how much money I have... How about this you come to my house and see whats in my garage and I will go to your rented apartment and see whats in yours....

Did you pay cash for your car? PM me I will give you my address.. Come to my house and you can see whats up..... If you dont respond or retort with some non sequtiur BS then obviously you are full of crap. Plain and simple I'm hanging it on the line if you want to hide behind the computer and make assertions which are based on false information, which it looks like you are good at then go ahead.....

How much real estate do you own?
How many cars do you own?
Where in LA do you live?

You are a typical LA poser who leases their car and thinks they are hot sh*t

The real question is: how much higher education do you have?

The answer is: obviously very little or none due to your ignornant claims and immature retorts.

"Bro you dont even know me or how much money I have... "
Spoken like a true wealthy young man in his mid-twenties, who owns a 7 year old E300 which he tricks out to drag race traffic with.

Come to your house? Why in the world would I want to see your Dad's old cars...Do you live with your parents at 24?

How much real estate do I own?
1.2 million worth....not that its your business. Dude stop assuming...your instincts seem pretty dull based on this ongoing thread war

How many cars do I own?
2.....how many have I owned in the last 9 years: 7. Sorry bro, I rock new rides instead of racing around my moms old tricked out E300

Where do I live in LA:
Palos Verdes Estates...I agree to an IP check in advance Ricky.

Husk:
I guess you are accustomed to directing condescending remarks towards fellow Mercedes enthusiasts and I do not contest your right to do so, but let me have a moment to defend myself- since you are getting quite personal. First of all, I work very hard at everything I do and graduated from an Ivy League school with honors utilizing scholarships and grants; I am by no means a poser of any kind. I am in the media industry and am not going to pry into the specfics of what I do, but lets just say its deemed pretty awesome by the current social norms to interact with the people I meet on a daily basis. Furthermore, I can assure you that while standing at 6'3, 205lbs, and being an avid jujitsu trainer, I dont feel the need to hide behind anything. I regret that you have such built up anger for people who disagree with you.

Oh yeah,
Grow the fu*k up

I'm done with this thread.
