CBR 600 F2 taken down by E55

Geez, should Baller not have raced just because the bike is old? BS I say.
See you on the street.
See you on the street.
"reading WSJ in the back..."
See you on the street.
The CBR beats the Merc hands down, now I can't read a paper when i'm riding, nor can I carry more than one passenger, as if i'd want to!
E55 Baller toasted a CBR 6 from 70 mph to 115 mph, fair play to him, really not a big shout though, the bike was clearly not ready at 70, and as it all stopped at 115 mph because of traffic it was hardly a challenge!
Then the bike went on to ride through the traffic, as they can, ignor all jams, cut in and out, and halve the journey time!
It's not the speed though, its the thrill... try riding a bike at 160-170 MPH with only some cow hide and a carbon fiber hat to save your life! Cars have airbags, roll cages, and seatbelts etc etc. Bike = death, car = scrathes!
Try doing 70 MPH off the lights in London driving a Merc with some toys added, do the same on a basic £2,000 CBR 6 and you'll know the difference.
Just out of interest, I've personally done a 1/4 mile in 11.6 secs, that's timed on a pro drag strip, I expect to do 10.5 ish later in the year, all on a 10 year old CBR that cost me less than £2,000 including the NOS that i've added.
My AMG cost me £72,000 and its slower, but i can have someone drive me while i read the f***ing paper, and I don't crumple my suit of ultimate self importance!
Cars I've "smoked" on my CBR
Evo 6,7,8
Porshe's.. well all of them really, all i've met anyway!
Lotus.. all of them aswell
There was a quick scooby, um, uhh, smoked that!
Let me think, um, ahh, nothing that comes to mind, i'm sure i'd loose to a decent itallian car, but then i'd be able to stop in half the dustance it could!
Have fun people!
I ride a GSXr1000, so I can chime in. My E55 will EAT any sane rider on a 600 or 750. You simply can not push a bike like you can a car. In a 500 mile race, maybe. But not on a quick trip.
The 1000 / R1, too is faster. But, again, i can take them since they do not want to slide in the twisties.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I have been assuming that american roads are reasonably wide with multiple lanes, and on that basis, yes the bike in a straight line would win unless the car put the power down first.
I fully agree that a decent car, can and will, beat a bike around a set of tight bends unless the rider is very skilled.
Have you put NOS on your R1? Now that is fun!
Summation of what happens:
Normally: bikes > cars.
This case: car < bike.
And for the record IMHO, anyone who buys a car and doesn't know what it's capable of and can't even control it themselves, shouldn't be buying that car. I just laugh at all of the drivers of high end cars that I see here in sunny FL that can't even drive the "supercars" that they buy.
Like, for instance, this one red Z06 here that I saw again today. Sorry for the continuous talking, I have just been bored lately... So this guy has a red C6 Z06 with tinted windows that I have seen around. I met him about two weeks ago and he comes up and talks to me about the black Z06 that I was driving. He then proceeds to tell me all about how he has "things" done to his Z. So I ask and he points out that he has put two extra Z06 badges on the car. One on the front, one on the back.
Then he opens his trunk and what is there... two 12" W6 subs with amps and all. I quickly stop myself from laughing and end the conversation there. Come to find out, my friends over at Sound Advice here told me that this same guy took them for rides in it when he had all of the stuff installed. And I quote "The guy couldn't shift for the life of him."Sorry for the continuous post, just thought I'd share one of the many examples I can think of when people can't drive the cars they buy.
