Just waiting at a turn signal and a 4th Gen. Camaro pulls up behind. Couldn't tell if it was modded but he did have aftermarket tail pipes. After the turn he pulls along side and punches it. I return the favor and he never passes my front fender. I had one passenger and the A/C on. It was over fast as I put 4 cars on him within one city block. I'm sure he was waiting to post his big victory over the "luxury sedan" on the F-Body forum but, alas, he'll have to wait another day. He must have been upset getting beat by a 4 door because when he drove by he flashed a very unfriendly hand gesture. Hater!
The funny thing is that I own a 4th gen F-body with bolt-on mods. My car was almost identical to the one I trounced with the same ground effects and color, so it felt like I was beating my own car. Although, my Camaro fares much better against the 55 than this victim.
..just the fact that the guy could'nt handle it and showed as much my his gesture tells me he deserved his spanking all the more. No offense to camero/firebird owners on this forum, but the guys around here tend to be jerks with big chips on their shoulders..and let's not exclude the dated 80's/90's mustang group either. Tailgaters and "fear this" stickers repulse me. Good swatt Rudyrono !
Thanks, I have to be careful, however, because I have a lot of friends with F-bodies and Mustangs. Some of them have run in the 10's so I don't want to shout too loud or I'll get a dose of reality. For the most part, however, bring'm on. I was inspired to buy the E55 when I saw the video of the stock 55 dusting the modded Cobra. I'm still waiting to step on a snake!

I know what you mean, and not everybody that owns one fit that stereotype. I know people that invest alot of money building some really cool cars, and what I like about those people is that they are car guy's that love cars and can appreciate a benz, a model t, or a well painted pickup..although the apple of their eye is that one car that turns their crank. They dont get stuck in one gear so to speak. On the other hand you have those that race about town looking to show how far "above" they've rissen. Fortunately, it's not hard to seperate the chaff from the wheat.

On a more supportive note of the AMG, scream as loud as you please... I've seen the E55 run 10s too. It's still just a sedan...

I almost sunk a ton of money into my Camaro. I was bummed because I couldn't get my hands on a C6-Z06 without paying a $20,000 premium. Great car but not worth $20K over MSRP. I just about pulled the trigger on the transformation of my Camaro which would have put it at well over 600hp at the wheels but thought...I'll have about $30K into a car that's 8 years old. It still looks great (one of the best looking 4th gen Camaro in town) but it's still 8 years old. Then....I found the E55. Enough said. I'm happy. The Camaro is still in the family and now I can mod if I want. We'll probably still look to build a "track monster" but at least now I can drive in a very fast car that has me grinning from ear to ear.

I'd have to agree with your call..however, if one a 30k to play with, there's always a '68 camero ..or the '07 challenger. I'd still take an E55 above all though...someday,someday..

if you owned a camaro, then you should know that it would take a H/C LS1 to keep up with your E55
Yes, I do realize what it would take for an LS1 to step up to the E55. I still own the Camaro and someday, perhaps, it will be quicker than the E55. That, however, will take several thousand dollars worth of attention. I've got a friend who has a Trans Am with headers, cut out and intake. He thinks that he's going to hang with me after installing a 150 shot. Ain't gonna happen.
