said goodbye to an audi !
last night I was driving my 86 300e down a downtown one way and an a4 pulls up next to me and at the light guns it and he is gone so at the next light I decided to see what he was working with(the a4 used to be my dream car before this incident).after the green starts to glow we both floor it and he starts to fall behing after he shifted(manually) to second and my car starts to want to race.after about 5 seconds I meet him at the next light and the same happens again. Iused to think that the audi a4 was fast especially a 2.8 with an after market turbo(you could hear that thing a mile away) does anyone know the spec for like a 96-9 a4 2.8. I guess I won't be trading my 300 for an a4 anytime soon.

check www.autoconnect.com you get info on pretty much any car. gives you power, mileage, gear ratios, color options, safety ratings. whole bunch of info on that site. just goto Used car research, and in right column click on model info.

Sorry to tell you..but
There is absoultly no aftermarket turbo kit for 96-98 A4 2.8
There is supercharger kit for 98+ 2.8 tho.
Also stock HP for 96-98 A4 2.8 is only 172hp.
it's 12 valve 2.8 liter engine

I love killing people with my 89 300E w/ almost 300k on it. After they get beaten they say, "well you were driving a Benz, I know you would have won." But then I tell them my mileage and they just stare at me

As the owner of an A4 2.8-Liter I can attest to their lack of guts. They're ok, but nothing to write home about. However, after my little 1973 MBZ 280 sedan held onto a VR6 a couple of weeks ago down PCH and through the mountains, I too am having fun with an older Benz killing newer cars. I don't recommend it time after time after time, but it's fun once in a while. Hmm....supercharger for the 280??? lol...naw!
