Talking ML55 v. A4 3.2

im driving on a 4 lane (each direction) street this afternoon. as im pulling up to a red light this fruit in a new a4 decides to quickly change from the 4th lane into the 2nd lane (mine) because there was a car stopped in front of him in his lane and another 1 in the lane next to him (3rd lane). 2nd and 1st are empty. as soon as he did that i got an evil grin on my face . so he stopped in the 2nd lane and i moved 1 over into the 1st. i look over at him with an evil smile and think "u picked the wrong car/driver". he just looks at me w/o an expression. the light turns and i pulled out kinda quick, he was about a 1/4 of a car behind. then i hear his engine (guess he wasnt far enough back to see the badge )and i floor it. i pulled 2 car lengths on him up to about 75/80. we stop at the next light and i make sire i get right next to him. i look over (i cant stop laughing at this point) and he is just sitting there staring straight ahead. the light turns green and i make suire i take off at the same pace he does, ****ing w/ him. he doesnt bite. we stop at another light and i look over and hes still looking straight ahead, im staring at him (im sure he knew it) and he wont look over. it was too funny. perfect way to start the day.

Was the A4 adorned with the S-Line bodykit? If so I am glad you smushed the wannabe.

I also had a 3.2 try and run me- in heavy traffic on the 405. I just let him go.

I have driven the A4 3.2, while punchy off the line it really runs out of steam soon after. Its highway passing power is kinda weak too. But.. the 3.1L FSI V6 sounds really intoxicating!

Unfortunately.. I think a stock A4 2.0T is hopeless. So is its rival the C280 4Matic, but the C280 is smooth, comfy, and sounds good.

whats wrong with the S-line package? :p Its like MB and the AMG packages they put on.

I think a stock 2.0T is pretty decent, gets good gas mileage and has sufficient power to get around. Better than the 1.8T certainly. Chip that thing and you got yourself ~250hp and ~295tq from 200hp/207tq.

Holson, never see you driving around Boston! Though I think I may have spotted you a few times at the Landmark Center.

The S-Line package looks good actually. I guess it is kind of the C230 w/ the AMG kit

My friend chipped his 1.8T Passat and it made quite a difference. I was surprised! I guess such is the nature of turbocharged engines.

Landmark centre? I haven't driven there for a while now! Also, I drive a different car now (a white W208 CLK55). The E420's gone Awesome picture by the way, where is ithat?

I think the S-Line makes the car look nice as well. It gives it a nice sporty touch to it.

Chips definitely make the difference...I can't believe what a big difference it made on my 1.8T.

I coulda sworn it was you with two friends. I didn't want to call out your name and be wrong :p Oooh, CLK55...very nice. What happened to the E? You still have the C32?

Thanks! The picture is at the entrance of Boston Sand & Gravel company, under Rt 95, right by the Zakim bridge.

I might be busy on Sunday but if I'm not, I will try and make it.

Is it an all day event?

I have no problem with Sport packs that make BMWs and Mercs look more aggressive but why audi have decided to add those stupid "S-Line" badges as well as the bodykit is just dumb in my opinion. It's a little like when you see a C320 AMG or 325 M. Were I buying an Sport Audi I would specify that I didn't want the badges as they are too much of a blatant mimic of the badges on the performance variants of the marque.

I agree that the 2.0t engine is a nice little motor though.
