E55 vs S4

Sooo, was the OP in the n/a earlier version of the E55 (W210)? That would explain alot to me, as my friend in VA has a modded E55 the trapped low 11's in the 1/4 last fall. He had added a pulley, a custom exhaust, an ECU tune and some cooling mods and drag radials. I've seen it run and it is fast. His run was the fastest E55 non-NOS run on the net.

But there are V6 turbo S4's with only light mods that can run near that. i.e. 2000 S4 with boost controler and 116 octane race gas running 26 psi boost clocked 11.20 ET @ 122 mph. Other than listed it was mostly stock. Another running GT28's at 20psi on pump gas with an exhaust, etc ran 11.40's ET @ 126 mph.

That is impressive. Turbo's are very tunable and they don't have the parasitic losses of the SC'ed cars. My V6 C32 is quick, but I have no delusions of ever getting it into the high 11's let alone the low 11's. Turbo's really respond to open exhausts. After that more boost and an open K&N style intake helps. Chip is another obvious option that helps them.

2001.5 Audi S4
LOL, I didn't even look at the date when I jumped into this thread... Upgrading the exaust is going to put even more strain on the turbos. Will the stock intake still be sufficent or should that get a tweak also?... guess I should start looking for k04's since I need to replace my timing belt anyway I my as well do some motor work in the process also.

Replacing the turbos on the 2.7T is not a easy job and is labor intensive. The motor must be dropped and taken out in order to replace the turbos. The TB does not require that, only removing the bumper and swinging the radiator support into the "service" position to access the front of the engine.

That's why I'm a bigger fan of the A4 vs the S4. The A4 has plenty potential even though it's a I-4 and is easier to work on. Plus with the right FMIC,TURBO,EXH,INJ, and TUNE an A4 can be turned into a low 11 sec monster.

Bro I wish I could but I don't know if I'll be able to finish my project for now.Too many darn priorities with the wife and the house otherwise I'd have been up and running already. Anyway I'll just enjoy watching your progress for now and until I get things together over here we'll definitely give it a shot. good luck with the BEAST!

Ah that sucks. I need to get a pull against a stage 3 S4 as well as a E55k or something of that caliber, the car is getting tuned tomorrow night (first revision anyway) Today I had my 044 dropped in the gas tank, and I gotta say, immediately the MPG went down !

Hmmm, I can always pick on Jon's slow cars..

Dude you have no idea WTF your talking about. Time to add some truth to your statements.
1. that car is not acknowledged by any audi owner due to the lie's that surround it. The car was gutted etc.

Hence why you were smart enough to get a sick *** B6. Its listed as 20 hours of labor at the dealership. However I'd say about 10 hours of hard work.

Why don't you head to Etown and beat my 1/4mile time.

11.6@120 on pump so how about that for your yardstick.

Actually pressure is constant (Due to a Fuel pressure regulator ), adding the 044 didn't change anything now that I drove it more than a few miles, mileage is the same.

I think his car will do the same time on pump, but I'm surprised that he did not use a GT35r turbo instead. But we'll see. Unfortunately I'll probably miss out on all the fun u guys are having.

O.T. Tommy I still have your tire guage, let me know when u want it back or I'll even buy it from you if you'd like to sell it to me.

Tommy_S4: Dude, I don't know you and you don't know me but put your Nomex on bro.

Excuse me? was that comment directed at me? It is hard to tell since you ripped on about four of us all at once. If not just disregard my comments below. However, the way I read it, you say that I don't know WTF I am talking about? and am a liar? In my book, that is both rude and disrespectful, considering that I can back up my comment with facts, no disrespect to you sir.

I am prone to talking alot and even BS at times, but I don't make a habit of posting things that are incorrect, misleading or untruthful. The 2003 w211 E55 AMG Kompressor that I referred to was not gutted, was a street car that was driven three hours on pump gas, on the highway to the dragstrip where it posted multiple runs in the very low 11's. After which the owner drove it home. The best run was: 11.052 ET @ 124.901 mph, and 1.638 sec 60 ft time. Link to the run:
http://www.dragtimes.com/Mercedes-Be...lip-16945.html

The car had a number of mods including a ASP pulley, ECU tune and custom exhaust. He had drag radials on it too. He was running on 93 octane PUMP Gas. The run was posted without NOS. I witnessed the run. I did not read about it. I saw the car and know the driver. As far as I can tell, you were not there, right?

The track was Mountain Park Dragway in Clay City, KY and this track is up in the mountains at nearly 800 ft above sea level. Imagine what the times would have been if we had been at sea level alt at Englishtown?

Look, I don't want to be rude, cause you may be the nicest guy on the planet, but I do not appreciate being told that I do not know WTF I am talking about and that I should put some truth into my posts when I did know exactly what I was talking about as an eye witness to the truthful statement that I shared with the group. Next time you wanna run you mouth about what I do or do not know, hows about checking your facts 1st bro?
