So My buddy got his 02' Audi S4 with manual transmission. He wanted to go up against my E55 so we did today out on a 3 1/2- 4 mile long straight of open freeway on the outskirts on Portland. His car has custom exhaust and a short shifter of some kind. Anyways the road was completely clear of cars and police which we scanned for before the run. So we were side by side at 40 and I told him I would go when he went. He downshifted and nailed it, his car launches surprisingly fast but within 5 seconds I was side by side with my engine roaring. My car just brought him in and I passed him making his car look like it was nothing. By the time we were doing 100 I had 3-4 car lengths on him. I slowed at 120 when I had 5-6 car lengths on him. We went again but the same thing happened. It was very funny seeing his face, he realized that his S4 was no match for my E55!!

Before we drove into the city I decided I wanted to make a high speed run. My buddy was in the middle of the long straight of his freeway keeping an eye on his Valentine 1. I pulled onto the freeway and floored it. Both the speedo and rpm guage sprung into action as I was pushed back into my seat. At 65 I moved into the far left lande because I saw an 18 wheeler up ahead. I passed him at about 100 and he must of seen me coming because he gave me a thumbs up when I was coming up behind him and I returned one out the moon roof. With both hands on the steering wheel now and the needle passing 120 the engine kept roaring and I kept getting a little more scared! (LOL) At 140 I could see my friend off to the side of the road way up ahead. I passed him at about 152 giving me a smile and the thumbs up which we decided before meant radar detector was clear. I coninued on to what the speedo registered 156 mph and held it there for about 6 or 7 seconds!!

Man what a rush that was, now my friend is convinced either to chip or swap the KO4 Turbo's in his car so he can keep up with me!! (LOL)

The chip is making me worry!! I will still be able to take him wont I? He will have about 320 hp, which is alot in that size of a car! When we went up today I had a lot of distance on him when we stopped at 120. At that time I was creating more distance between us then when we were below 100, I think if I would have continued to say 140 I would have had 8-10 car lengths on him!?!?! With the chip it will be harder the car will pull a lot harder and faster!

Are there any mods out there to increase my power by 20-30 hp so I can become a little faster?

Actually, speaking to a friend who has KO4, chip, and full exhaust minus cats for close to 400 hp, the guys are dumping their $40K S4's and picking up $20K GTI 1.8t and tuning them to run in the 12's. Hate to run into one of them on the highway!

Like I've said before, you can get a Kia Sephia ($13k), throw $20k worth of mods and you will be running low 12s n the street, but you are still not riding on style and fast at the same time.
An E-320 "slow" MB picks up more girls than a really fast Kia or Golf too.

 

I got a good one for ya'll. Take a 16K A4 1.8T. Put in a $4K K04 turbo system, and run low 13's high 12's. All for about $20k. The yu can go faster, carbobfiber hood, short shifter, lighter wheels, stickier tires etc. A tuned A4 or a Tuned S4, they are both great sleepers. I heard someone is working a sequential K03/K04 turbo system for the S4. 580hp on 100octane 540hp on 93. That thing will be crazy fast.

I don't know the aswer to that since I'm not familiar with the chip, but by the numbers posted on that website it seems like he at least is going to be able to keep up a lot better.

 

I have an S4 and I read a lot of the posts at AudiWorld- some of them might be BS and some them are probably straight up. But most of the guys with a chip can keep up with E46 M3's.

I have a chipped S4 and an E55. I cant tell the difference in power honestly. I wish I could drive both at the same time and race myself My buddy has a chipped S4 without the turbo mods and works at a Porsche dealer and two times he raced a C4S to about 80 mph and both times he was ahead by about two car lengths. I got an ABT chip which took out the speed limiter and bumped the HP to 310 and the torque to 370. I have been told my S4 will go past the 170 mph range. While I havent tried to reach this ludicrous speed (Spaceballs) I am confident that the tuner was right.

I love both cars but for the money (little amounts) you can easily modify a turbo charged vehicle. It will take a lot more cash to bump your E55 into the low 4's and 12's.

You didn't check out the link i gave you..??? Here it is again, www.giacusa.com. They have an 11's and 12's (on video) S4 with chip and turbo upgrade !!! Even if you transform your car into Kleemann E55K, you still wouldn't be the high 11's S4 !!!

I've read the website, I've seen the video, I understand that if you do the chip and the turbo upgrades you have a hell of a speed monster, that it is cheaper to modify than an E55 and faster than an E55 and probably faster or just as fast as an expensive Kleeman supercharger on the E55, THAT IS YOUR POINT, ISN'T IT?
If I didn't understand this why do you think I made this remark All I answered to AmgBoy was that I didn't know what the chip alone would do (numbers on the 1/4 mile), I know they give you hp and torque numbers for the chip mod only.

 

Hey Pocholin what is this guys problem? So he has proof that if you totally mod your S4 to the max that you can blow by a STOCK E55!!?? My friend just wants a chip that will give him 50 hp or so and bump up his torque. So basically this guys website he is posting is no use, because it's all S4's that are modded to the max!

Also to whatever your screen name is posting this website we both get it and guess what we dont care!!! We are just sharing ideas one what my friends S4 will do with a chip, we dont need people slamming on our cars!!

just make sure your friend isnt running 100 octane and doing 5,000 rpm clutch drops next time your race him if he gets a chip...trust me i know from experience.

 

I have a 2001.5 Audi S4 and just upgraded to the ABT chip other than that and a K&N filter its stock. Its supposed to give me about 310-320hp and about 360 torque. I definatly feel the difference and still get ZERO turbo lag since the S4 is a bi-turbo and not a twin turbo. To my understanding the only thing it changes is the boost, I hope my stock turbos can take it but at least is a 2001.5 and not the 2001 (less reliable on turbos). It can take my friends '06 M3 off the line but he catches up and over takes with in 1/4 mile. Stock my S4 does 0-60 in 5.5... anyone know what it is supposed to do with just a chip upgrade? Also considering a exhaust upgrade which is suppsoed to add another 45 to hp and torque. Anyone know if I am going to need to upgrade the intake as well? Also are there any stock parts I should replace with more robust ones. I have a turbo timer and it would top out at .60 boost but now hits .99 ez (not sure if the boost gage tops out at .99).

We have developed software for both the Audi and the 55K motors. You can figure that you have knocked .2-.3 seconds off your 0-60 time. With our programming, anything that you can do to increase the airflow will help the car's power.
