Death....
On my way home from work i'm on the van wack expressway in ny. heading twards whitestone when a grey 240sx and a black g35 fly by me. Being to tired i dont try to follow knowing its pointless and its 12ish. About 20 min latter traffic starts getting hevier. I don't know if it was them or if they caused and accident or what ever. I get off at jewel ave in foresthills and go home. I have a good view, no building in front of me for 2 miles, i can see the unisphier, lie, gcp...etc. I go to my blacony and i see this massive car accident. traffic is at a DEAD stop. 15 cop cars, a bunch of emts, fire trucks. I hope no one was killed. Just makes you think how easy it is for your life to be over.

The Van Wyck gets pretty bumpy around that area on the south bound side. Northbound you can comfortably hit 100, perfect asphalt.. They shouldnt have been racing during the day in the City thats just asking for trouble.

You'd be surprised!
It depend on where everyone is and if the accident was near to a hospital, police station, fire department
Those stories make me wonder why i stay in the left lane pushing 95 MPH and while everyone else is pushing me from behind...man i don't feel like driving right now or for a little while

What's worse? The Van Wyck or the BQE coming out of Roosevelt Ave in Astoria? Talk about a white knucke adventure for even the most seasoned NYC drivers! I say the BQE for insanity, the Belt for that insane blind curve coming into Bay Ridge, and the Van Wyck for violent accidents. And of course the LIE...the worlds longest parking lot.

uggg the van wyck...i remember during the summer time they were doing major construction on it which started at 11pm in the nite. Only exit that was open was the hillside/jamaica ave exit.
