Some fun with snow tires

I put the winter shoes on last week, Dunlop M3 and found out they are pretty good in the corners. I was going to Milwaukee for work and was running about 80 when I saw a 5 series behind me. Well he passed and it turned out to be an e39 M5!! I already had a run with one of these in the past so I knew I could hang with him so I pressed him a little. For the next 25 miles we did numerous runs from 75-115 and whoever got the jump stayed ahead until traffic forced us to slow down. A few times we were single file and I seemed to creep up on his bumper. He exited and gave a thumbs up.

A few miles later after I had slowed down to about 65 I saw a silver Z car with an aftermarket intercooler and wheels come up to my side. He probably saw me and the M5 and wanted a turn. He hit it and I let him get about 3 cars and then I got on it. At about 115 I past him around a surprisingly sharp turn. A little white knuckle driving but I was way too committed to hit the brakes. Well the Dunlops handled it with ease and he slowed way down as I flew past him. I was very impressed to say the least.

Nice representing. Just remember to avoid the AWD brigade once the white stuff actually starts falling!

I'm assuming you can't wait to have some fun in the snow with your S4.

I'd love to go looking for SL65s and F430s but fat chance of ever getting snow here! But when it rains it rains and the drainage is bad so it gets pretty waterlogged. That's game on. Would've bought a 2003 RS6 but the used prices in the States are ridiculous. They're great value in the UK though. If I move there next year, a 2004 RS6 Plus will do me nicely. 480bhp AWD Avant should cause a lot of red-faced supercar drivers in that damp climate.
