I know this sounds crazy but this did happen. I just got my license and recieved my dad's original 560sl (white). My friend, who just recieved a cayenne turbo as b-day present, asked me if I wanted to go for a drive through Carmel Valley. Well I decided to go and he decided to show me what a "real german car" was like. The cayenne turbo was amazing for an SUV and felt real nimble, (felt faster than my car) but when we drove through the curves his car was not escaping and I was actually reeling him in (the straights were a different story)!!! Can my car actually compare with the Turbo or am I just a better driver???

Welcome to the board. I would have a hard time beleiving that a 560SL could stick with a Cayenne turbo in the twisties. I can tell you the Cayenne does have a large tendancy to understeer so it's not the best handling thing out there, but impressive for an SUV! Maybe he was taking the wrong lines??

Your buddy may not be the best driver as the Cayenne Turbo lapped the Ring faster than a 996 N/A and had the exact same time as an EVO 8. There is no way a 560SL would be able to keep up with a properly driven CTT.

You just got your license are you're already racing around? Before you end up totaling your dads 560SL I suggest you learn how to drive. Im not trying to be a troll but your inexperiance can lead to your cars demise, as well as potentially your life.

I completely agree, you need to know how to handle that car to get the most out of it. As goes with just about any car, I wouldnt be suprised if he was taking the turns to quickly and at a incorrect line just understeering all the way through.
