Why do you seem to think Ben "borrows" all of his cars from someone else like daddy?? In the time you've been here, I believe you've had plenty of opportunity to set up a race with him or his friends, street or track, no?? If not, set a date and time RIGHT NOW, that he can respond to. Otherwise, may you be permanently connected to a continous loop recording of Improviz, lambasting you with MBW examples of one vehicles performance numbers VS another.

I'm willing to give Allan the benefit of the doubt, given that he may have not even been aware of this challenge.

So I'm sure Allan will be willing to propose a new date that is known by all parties (and surprise visits by Uncle Cosmo are unlikely). I look forward to the video.

I agree! I'm sure Allan will pony up a date for the run soon.

Rules are as follows:

1. 2 runs from a dig and a roll.
2. No excuses by either party when they lose.

Let's get it on!

We must have this on video!!

Dig run needs to be at the strip, though, to factor out reaction time. Idea here is to find out which vehicle is faster, not whose reflexes are quicker or who stomps on it a fraction of a second sooner!!

Vic, my bad.

Allan, you still have every opportunity to call him out. If it won't work 'till after the holidays, pick a day and we can all see who shows or doesn't.

Improviz,
No need to run at a strip. The tree takes away bad reaction times when you want to see what car runs the 1/4 faster. I don't think reaction times are going to decide who is ahead at the end of the 1/4.

To anyone close,
Somebody video this please. The last time I got a showdown with my local loudmouth, only me and the friend with me got to see the carnage. Fun though.

Probably not, but it gives us an excuse-proof timeslip w/the time it took each vehicle to traverse the 1/4 mile and its trap speed at the end of it, and the MOV number to see how much faster the winner *really* was...we've heard too many excuses from this guy, and imo it'd be better to have something quantifiable...plus, if he's 0.2 or so quicker off the line than the other guy, he'd be invariably talking smack where the MOV number would preclude this.

Plus, the original challenge was to go to a strip, so why not do it at a strip? Certainly no harm in it, and the irrefutable results shut down excuses before the start.

Surely, in say a 60-150 race, the 65 would just eat up the Gallardo irrespective of reaction times?

Agreed, but again, I'll put a friendly $100.00 up on the results NOT being close enough to need a timer to determine who is faster, regardless of who gets to the traps first. Win or lose, it ain't gonna be that close from a dead stop.

Oh, no, I wasn't trying to say that you'd need the timeslip to determine the winner; what I meant was that if he goes down by, say, 0.5 and reaction time makes it visually appear more like 0.3, I want to know about it! Otherwise, he'd be bragging about the lengths, etc...

Plus, you know me: I'm a numbers guy!!

Which holidays?

Valentine's?

4th of July?

Pick a date. They will come.

Until then, I would refrain from any more personal attacks. Your absolute last chance at salvaging a modicum of face is in putting down some good numbers at the track. You might wany to let your car talk for once, fwiw.

Funny thread.

But, the said driver’s personality aside, allenlambo has a Lamborghini. A Lamborghini! The point is, there are thousands of “fixed up” Civics that can beat it. But who cares?? If I could afford a Lambo, I would take that car over any ubiquitous Mercedes or “fast Civic.” You guys are thinking like Vin Diesel and living your life a 1/4 mile at a time. Trust me, there is more to life than 1/4 mile times…..as well as more to cars than just that.

No offense to all the SL/CL 65 owners, but just because they bought a car loaded with power, does that mean that they can think they are better than every Ferrari, Prosche or Lambo out there? Granted, Allenlambo is an *** on this forum, but in the end, his Gallardo is more of a “drivers” car than most Mercedes on this board.

SL65 vs. Gallardo = Apples vs. Oranges.

65 people need to stop acting like all those “Fast Civic” people and thinking they are Kings because they are fast in a straight line.

But I still give them HUGE respect for owning a 65.

Just my 2 cents..
