Ok guys, we all know that my car is "strange" . So coolcarlski made a little offer to me. A simple drag race on jones beach, prob a 0-110 race. Anyway wadya thinks guna happen. Any bets?

depends on what kind of 325i it is e30,e36,e46,e90..stock, auto,man? The e90 has a slight power to weight advantage and if its a manual it would probably win in the end but not by much.

I dont know how fast your E320 is but the E90 325i might be a challenge.

Some guy on the E90 board is claiming his did a 0-60 in 6.3 seconds with his g tech thing.. Anyways my 328i is faster than the 325i ( I have a buddy with a 325i along with my brother that has a 325i). Anyways so I raced by buddies GTI in my 328i and we were dead even till I hit 3rd gear then I started to walk away, His car is supposed to be rated at 0-60 in 6.5 seconds my BMW factory rating is 6.9, we have almost the same power to weight ratio ect. But I raced the GTI in the E350 and killed it, so my guess is the E350 does 0-60 in 6.2-6.3 seconds, the 328i does 0-60 in 6.5 seconds, and a 325i would do it in 6.7..

But to be safe if you can beat an E350 which I doubt your E320 will do then you should have no trouble with the 325i.

I've raced an E90 325i (automatic) on the highway!! He was by himself and I was in a '98 E320 (37,000 miles) with a 180 lb passenger with me!!
They were all highway rolls..... from 80mph till about 120-125 mph... ie from 130 km/h till about 200 km/h!!!
The results were always the same.... DEAD EVEN!!!!!!!!

well, as of right now at this moment. I'm not sure on the status of the race, due to the wether report. snow, and rain when the temp is under 35 = ice. so, if all goes well i'll be there.

If its a E46 even my 1.8T can take it =) E90 325i uses the 3.0 liter from the E46 330i. Which would eat me.

Do you have any mods? Cuse my buddies GTI 1.8T with intake blow off and chip he estimates about 195hp conservatively which is BS, is dead even with my 328i then I hit 3rd gear and start to walk away.

His GTI is about 3k lbs the audis are another 300-400 lbs more which puts them inline with the weight of the E90....

Before I got the 328i I was considering the audi.. I test drove the heck out of a 2.0T which down low might stay with the 328i but over 40mph its going to be a walk away.

well, thats the thing. I have no idea what i'm racing. NONE. i mean 260-270hp is quite a bit. well all know, weather periting on sunday

TommyGunn has a ringer M103 under that hood. I watched his 0-60 acceleration video, and it was comparible to a 0-60 video I saw of an SL500. Just wait for the roads to clear up man, it isn't worth it toying around on ice.

I am wondering if the previous owner maybe had some port & polishing work done to the motor.It wouldn't be obvious to anyone looking under the hood and COULD......repeat COULD....provide the extra ponies necessary to validate the performance of his car.Just a thought.

I read the topic he posted about his car..... WOW... Its going to take a lot more than a simple port polish to make that much more hp... Lets go with his engine was drilled out another liter or so..

I have a buddy with an older pickup truck that the engine looks like the stock chevy V8 but the displacement has been significantly increase and it fast.

Alright guys, heres what happened. i think we did a roll from 40 and 60. on the 60 i got walked HARD. on the 40 we were even up to 60 i'd say and all i see is carl shift in to 4th and WHAM. GONE. So i'm like nuh uh no F'in way is this a 325i. We pop the hood and guess what. its an M3 motor under the hood thats chiped. we were going to do a run from a dig but cops came and crashed the party. Not me or carl, nobody got tickets, but the cops had to end our fun. anyway thats the results
