S600 Vs. Chevy SSR (6.0 Liter LS2 V8)

I was running some errands, had a car load of stuff: 2 pitbulls in the back seat, a TV in the front, bunch of crap in the trunk.

Minding my own business and an '05 SSR pulls up next next to me at the light. Turns green and he takes off like a banshee.

Hmmm... okay. We meet up at the next light, I rev it a little bit to let him know I'm game. I take off, though not a full launch as to protect my companions in the back seat.

I look over in the corner of my eye and he's about a car length behind at 65 mph. Get to the other light and now he's in the left turn lane. We both smile and nod and I notice him staring at my left fender- must have noticed the "V12" badge.

Not much of a race: He can do 0-60 in 5 secs and a 14 second quarter-mile.

Nice...quick runs are great...

IMO--I don't like the SSR's look...looks like a modified PT Cruiser...Ugly!!

Yeah. I was moving some junk and had a 13" in the front seat, rocking back and forth. No point in mashing it, the guy was doomed from the get-go.

I generally don't bother to street race, but if road conditions are safe and the other driver seems like a good sport, then what the heck. I don't bother with punks, just a waste of gas.

Last race was an E39 BMW M5. He was cool as well, gave me a thumbs up after I spanked his ***. Most drivers assume it's an S430 or S500, so think they have a chance. Look closer and the V12 badge reveals itself. Just wait until the RENNTech upgrades...

great run...

i had a similar run with a new TOY Avalon.

The guy was cutting everybody off (older gentleman)

we caught the light together and I was going to give him the jump.

Sure enough he got on it at the green light.

I was in C mode and I had my family therefore I really didn't push..

needless to say.. i quickly reel him in and I put a nice bus length before coming back to posted speed limits.

The guy stayed back and was cool after that.

Best I've read is 4.3 secs. Typical 1/4 is 12.5 secs (stock)
