i was on a road which goes from 2 lanes to one, and i just happened to be next to a blue WRX Impreza non STI, and it had an exhaust and sounded like he had some stuff under the hood maybe intake and headers...well the light turns green and we both gun it and i figured that he would have took me off the line and i might have caught up later because of his AWD, but what actually happened was that i took him at first, and i could hear his car loud as hell next to me, but as soon as he shifted to 2nd he got to my front bumper, and then when he shifted again, it was game over he had a good 1 and a half car length on me and the gap kept getting wider...but good thing for that 300 torque so that i could atleast take him up to around 30 mph...well and good thing it wasnt an STI cause i would have gotten raped...

Those WRX are sure fast. I think they claim 0-60 in 5.5 sec. The high performance (STI) are 5 sec.

Hmmm, i took an sti from 80-130 with 2 passengers in my car. from 80-90 he put 1 car legenth on me but from 90-130 we were even.

My son just bought a new WRX.
Quick little scooby-do. Nice ride.
It keeps up with my CL500 from the line.

But in the presence of the SL55 it just bows into quick submission.

He reminds me if he had a STI and Nitrous and and and and.
He might keep up with the AMG.

The WRX is a nice little ride, I have an 05 wagon w/stage II upgrade as a winter car..off the line they are dogs, but once that turbo spools up...fun, fun, fun....I've eaten many cars I would have thought to be quicker from a rolling start Of course the REX is an SUV compared to my SLK!

HMmm have to humbly disagree w/ya, on the freeway and un-moded the STI falls flat on it's face after 0-70-75 they top out, took one in my old 2001 S430 pulled bus lengths on him from 70-130+ it's very possible

either way, i have no beef with u. i had an STi and never had a problem of falling on its face. either the driver doesnt know how to drive< which is mostly the case. or wasnt trying. i never had a problem with any benz. amg models excluded. my car doesnt top out at 75 as u would say. it happily went to 150 no problems...

I've got no prob w/you either, but what I meant by topping out at 70-75 wasn't your top speed limitter, just that in my multiple experiences running them, including 1 friend who has had 2 of them 1st one fully modded 430+rwhp very evil runner, but now a new stock one, when STOCK, they run outt've breath at 70-75 in freeway rolls easy to pull on, just my experience is all I'm saying..

I'd love to have a modded Evo IX or is it the eight? saw a video where Jereamy Clarkson (Host of Top gear) ran a Murci Lambo in twisties, all over him like stink! could've passed him at multiple times awesome frickin' track car!
