SLRs go for about 350-400K. Vadim your not gonna buy a 599 Right now or for the next few years for less than half of what an SLR cost. Arent they going for 350K right now? The SLR is the better buy imo, the 599 is so god damn ugly and is not as fast as ferrari has made claims to be and this has been proven by the various videos. It lost to both the CGT and SLR and on paper the 599 Should be just barely slower than an Enzo so what gives?? The SLR also has a road presence that the 599 Simply cannot match, nor almost any car on the road besides a Phantom, Zonda, Bugatti, or CGT. The stares you get in that car are just wow, from Ferrari, Lamborghini, bentley and porsche owners.
id the 599's are going for 350k right now and mb cant sell slrs for way below sticker.... what does that tell you?
599 is the better car, that was my whole point in the 1st place.
phanton has much more presence than an slr btw, if you want presence get a phantom, if you want a performance gt get the 599
if your buying a sports/performance car for presence/lloks from others then you need help
the 599 did a best of 0-60 in 3.55 sec. in the most recent autocar, 7.4 to 100, 2 way average. they wrote 3.7 for 0-60 cause its more doable on a regular basis (i take that as they raped the **** out of it to get the 3.55 ).
i think it was car and driver who got an even lower time for the 0-60 but C&D always get lower times,
i ahve no clue where you got that from, from everything ive seen the car is fast as ****

I will buy 2 from you tommorrow for 350.. Market price is 500-515 depending on options.
Ferrari's dont sell for sticker..
The sticker price on a 599 well optioned is 312-322 plus tax..
You cant get one for 350 and will not be able to buy one for at least 2 years esp with Ferrari workers going on strike..

makes the case against the slr even stronger, **** 150K over sticker; mb would kill for demand like that on an slr

Damn, I must be a 100 years old, since when I married my wife, she was 25.
So we have a Vette owner, talking about 1/4 mile times, yet has never been to the track himself, and we have a Ferrari owner, who:
A. Does not know the difference in weight between a Spider, and a Coupe is more like 60lbs vs the 300-400 he claims.
B. Does not know that most published Ferrari acceleration times are done at Fiorano, since this is the only place Ferrari wants it cars tested, and that the straight that they test it on, goes down hill. This has been published repeatedly.
C. Doesnt know that Ferrari, was the subject of several lawsuits against them, when it was found that the 360CS didnt weigh remotely close to Ferrari's published figures, nor was there any power increase.
The only way a 360 will run 119mph through the 1/4, is if it were pushed off a cliff.
The facts on the 360, ANY 360, is that it is a gutless wonder. Weighing in at 3300lbs, and depending on dyno making 310-330rwhp, and producing 270ft lbs of torque is the true test of its power.
Im willing to bet, that ive put more miles on various 360's and 430's then the owner of the 360 here.
Im first to admit, im not the biggest fan of dragracing. In fact, I hate it. But if either one of you, think you can just drive up to the track, and click off a time anywhere remotely close to what your are thinking, you are fooling yourself.
And btw, Id most likely eat 63year old *****, before I drove a Vette if I had to.

And for the Ferrari owner, here is a Ferrari F430, which is a HUGE step up powerwise from a 360. They dyno in most instances over 420rwhp. Roughly 100 more rear wheel hp than a 360. Im certain that Chad, the driver and owner of the F430 cannot drive either. He is only the holder of World Record in the 1/4 mile in his Twin Turbo Viper.

That it does. What can I do? Its a hard life...... but you know some people will do anything not to have to apply for 10 year interest free financing on a Corvette. That to me is far more funny

i dont lie
it aint much, and im sure its much better in high speed corners but i DID drive it
http://mymbonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1793
still waiting for why its worth twice as much has a 599
dont worry, i aint goin nowhere
you should be able to explain that since you drive "these" cars for a living
just cause you can afford all of em, doesnt meant its worth it

Its worth what people pay for them, nearly 1500 sold so far...
I love the 599 especially its static quality, but for engineering quality the SLR trumps it, exceeding DC specifications in many areas (body torsion and bending, vmax stability as some examples)
Im glad you did drive it but you need to drive it HARD and FAST to make a comparison regarding vehicle dynamics.
The car was designed to originally compete with 550 Marenello in performance and price but this was changed (the price) after the first prototypes were driven by senior management.

360 weight 3060 lbs
360 spider weight 3195lbs
360 CS 2615 lbs
I never said a 360 would run 119 in the 1/4. but 105 is stupid.
I really don't want to but I guess I'll take my gutless 360 to the track and see what it does and post a video here.
My cls55 ran 12.7-13.1 many times before I got a best time of 12.39 That is a big variance.

2nd off, you just answered your own question with the ClS55. It took ALOT of practice to get that time down to where you got it. And that is an autbox car, that produces a great deal of torque off the line, that practicly does everything for you. Now try that in 6speed (i believe you said your car was a 6speed) car that redlines at over 8000rpm, with no torque. You will be in 4 a big suprise, as you will never get near your CLS's slowest time.

What is all this "Allan's Wife is 63" nonsense?
Ive met Allan's wife... And Id be surprised if shes a day over 30... And at the risk of crossing a line when talking about another man's wife, lets just say she is quite an attractive young lady and leave it at that....
The thread posted above made monarchy look like a complete fool among people who formerly liked and respected him... But Im not sure who is the bigger fool... The original poster, or the guy who copies and pastes it without knowing the credibility of the source.

Ahhh here we go for Mr360.
Car and Driver happens to weigh EVERY car they test.
Quote from March 2004 Car and Driver, who scale weigh every car they test without a driver but with regular fluids:
"Ferrari saved 139 pounds (the Stradale weighs 3,152lbs.) via the aforementioned missing radio, carpet, and sound insulation; the use of carbon fiber for the rear hatch, door skins, center tunnel, and seat buckets; and ceramic brake rotors."
If that doesnt work for you, here is an owner, which if you added back the weight of the cats, and a full tank, would fully coinside with Car and Drivers findings also.
"I can give you an exact figure. My CS weighed 3020 with half a tank of gas. Weighed at a proper DMV certified weigh station. The car had no cats at all, so other than that it was stock. My F40 was 3040 on the exact same scale. I told Ferrari directly that there claim of 2600 lbs was total bull****. They told me it was for the euro car, etc, etc. Whatever, no way 400 more pounds was coming off that car for street use. Just crap.
Keith "
Now go back to dreaming about 2600lbs.

Sorry Vadim but the 599 is not as fast as ferrari has claimed or made mags claim.
Why is it that other manufacturers are so down to give their cars to mags to test on the ring yet ferrari isnt...hmmm.... Maybe cuz their claims are all bs.

CGT vs 599
Now according to ferrari the 599 should be in the low 11s almost at an enzos pace...these videos prove otherwise.
One last comment, thats not even a 722....

Whoever thinks that Z06 is faster than SLR or 599 is dillusional. SLR and 599 are on the same level as Carrera GT. What's next? A Z06 beating Porsche Carrera GT and Ferrari Enzo? Give me a break, Z06 is a high 11 second car at low 120's traps, period. I have never seen any magazine getting mid 11's from a Z06. If you have proof of Z06 running 11.5 @ 125mph Rickster, post it here, otherwise stop the bull****. C@D is known for getting the best times of cars on stock tires, period and they only managed 11.8. OK I guess they suck at driving according to your logic Rickster and don't know how to shift
Z06: 11.8 @ 122mph (C@D)
SLR: 11.5 @ 125mph (C@D)
599: 11.2 @ 129mph (R@T)
Compare dragtimes data between these cars and the Z06 and it shows the same thing. And please stop the bull**** that dragtimes numbers are lower than usual. If everyone gets high 11's from Z06's, that is what it runs. End of story.
