Hmmm

Not sure what year ML you have, but it SHOULD be quicker than the SS. My SS does 14.0 in the qtr.

what do ML's do in the 1/4? ANd Tomm I know its got miles IDC about that. Maybe he was flooring it and my beat up ML is slower than it first was. That means that my ML or any ones ML55 is faster? who knows. It still pulls for 200k what do ya expect?

I dunno Riffy, I was driving my friends 330ci and a trailblazer SS just ripped me a new one at around 120. Though the ML55 is quicker than a 330ci so it is entirely possible. Those things move really well, I never had a chance to line up our ML with one.

I think ML55's run mid 14's at 95+ iirc.

You seriously have 200K miles on your 55? How's the engine? Any serious maintenance along the way?

My friend has a Trailblazer SS. When he was stock he used to race my friend with his Nissan Altima SE-R (with cold air intake and y-pipe). The Altima clearly had the advantage and was able to beat him. I can easily smoke the Altima SE-R when I'm stock.

The Trailblazer SS has a 4 speed auto and its very heavy. Although he should have a horsepower advantage, your transmission and weight (I think you're lighter) backup your win.

Congrats on the kill!

My friend's Trailblazer SS now has air intake, magnaflow, and ecu. He pulls on the Altima SE-R pretty hard now...time for me to try him out

Just recently It wouldnt start. I think its the CPS but it only has a few of the symptons. I gotta get it to the shop. IDC about fixing that its only a 200 job. But the engine pulls Hard. the only thing were the recalls some were fixed others werent. like the machine gun locks, and the creek in the torsion bars, and the air bag sensor in the pass seat. Other than that its fine, runs fine, starts right up. The only thing we changed recently was the fuel pump. And I stay changing the fog lights every like month cause they crack. But Ive given up.I think im going to get it running and trade it in.

Haven't raced an Altima Before

But, I've run against an '06 WRX, Mustang GT (current gen), G35, and a Porsche Cayenne S (previous gen).

I've walked them all with my SS. At "highway speeds" I was between 1/2 to 3 car lengths ahead of those cars.

I walked the '06 WRX from a dig- twice.

If your ML55 does mid-14s in the 1/4, the SS is definitely quicker.

I only have exhaust and intake, not ECU tune. With ECU tune, the truck should gain another 15-20HP at the wheels. These LS2s are just so easily moddable.

Very nice.

And about the moddability...can't beat American V8's

Yes

Indeed, walked away from a Mustang GT. My guess was that it was an automatic.

The manual GTs run pretty much the same 0-60 times as the TB SS.

Trailblazer SS Stats

Stock, the SS runs 0-60 in 5.5-5.8 seconds, all the time, all day long, every time.

The Mustang GT Automatic runs about a 6 second 0-60. The manual GT is 1/2 a second quicker.

The SRT-8 Jeep Grand Cherokee is even quicker- it pulls a 4.5-4.8 second 0-60, due to the 6.1L, 420 HP Hemi and better gearing.

The current Stang Gt auto ran a 5.2 0-60, 13.6@100-1/4 in Motor Trend mag..

got these numbers from the website...

TrailBlazer SS redefines the “sport” in Sport Utility Vehicle with a Corvette-based 6.0L LS2 small block V8. It generates 395 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque, taking TrailBlazer from zero to 60 in under six seconds. Based on GM testing.

Yeah, as much as I'd hate to admit it, I believe it can take an ML55 if you look at the specs. ML55 is 342hp 376 ft/lbs torque and 5,072lbs. The Trailblazer SS is 395hp and 400 ft/lbs torque and 4,663lbs. But line one up with an ML63...

Hmmmm

I stand corrected, thank you for the clarification. According to publications the 5-speed GT is in the low 5s, not the mid 5s 0-60. However, I'd be surprised that the Mustang GT Automatic runs similar 0-60s as the manual- unless it's the Shelby (not the GT500) version- the same one you can get from Hertz.

Anyhow, if there is anyone with a stock GT (manual or auto) who'd like to run with my SS, i'd be happy to give another try at it. I have no qualms about racing a quicker car.

I remember getting my azz handed to me in my CLK55 when I raced a 997 Turbo.
