M5 board shows this same STOCK m6 lose by a good margin to the 997 turbo, seems like the Gallardo is not much faster than the STI in a drag race, tyhe Lambo folks are the ones living in FANTASY WORLD..
Youtube is full of Gallardos being beaten by flippin subies. This is not as fast of a car as lamboworld would have you believe, likely why lambo leader, cult owner is selling his car on ebay.

The only thing I could surely tell the difference between the video above and TopCarbon's video is the exhaust sound.... in the video above, the G's exhaust is almost non-existent.
So.... now lambo owners, are you going to argue the same thing? The G was not at full throttle, thus, the exhaust cannot be heard?

TopCarbon, please enlighten me w/ some info on the difference between '04 and '06 (yes, I'm lazy to do a little google ).
I understand '06 has a little bump in performance. But what's the exact difference in hp/tq numbers?
Shift points certainly help.... but how much help?
As for Allan's exhaust, 7hp wouldn't give any noticeable gains to the car at any speed.

An '04 dynoed at 366awhp (that will translate to more rwhp).
If you can be in the right gear at the right time, shifting points can make a world of difference.

I bet if you line up a Gallardo SL 6 speed against that CL65, it will be close. But in the end, who really cares. As proven with videos, the right car on an off day, the wrong car on a good day, the right car with problems, bad drivers, good drivers, year of same car, modifications, air temperature, etc, all have a play in the results.
Lets just agree we buy the cars we like, we enjoy them, and a spirited drive nw and again aint bad.

CLS63 beat a Gallardo? So what? I know some Civics that can beat a Gallardo. But the point is, I'd take a Gallardo over a CLS63 any day.
Man, some of you AMG guys sound like all those Civic guys. Just because your cars are fast in a straight line doesn't mean you are better. I've driven a few AMG cars inluding the E63 and other than amazing straight line acceleration, there is no driving excitement whatsoever. It got old very quickly for me.
Step into a Lambo....and you'll see what driving excitment is all about. You'd be hard pressed to get bored. And if you are looking for what makes the panites drop....

Just came across this fun thread. Allen does have a Lambo, no it's not stock, and stock 06 SE's have run as fast as 11.8's. His is for sale and has a list of mods with the ad somewhere. I do not no anything about a CLS63 I just bought a G and it runs well, but it is definitely far from fast. Thats what I love about running at the track, no BS and no lies. You either win or lose.......

I'm really not trying to start up any controversy over here but...have you seen the M5boards vids (on youtube) that show the Gallardo running against an M6 and a Porsche 997TT. The M6 pulls the Gallardo top-end and the 997TT just walks it the whole time. CL65 vs Gallardo would be a nice race because the Gallardo is quick off the line with its all wheel drive. The CL65 has too much rwtq so you have to launch it soft or spin the tires. I think from the dig on a 1/4 mile it would be extremely close. On a highway roll I could see the CL65 pulling the Gallardo.
And I don't think anybody was comparing the looks/status/driving experience of the Gallardo to the AMG's.

There are big differences between the '04 and '06--> Gallardos.
And, the Gallardo is not that quick off the line. The best race for a Gallardo is from 50mph on in the proper gears.

Yes, M5 board is full of **** I agree, but why would they post a video showing the M6 get smoked by a 997TT? If it was a phony race they would have had them run even or something.
