W140 600SEL vs. Lexus IS350
So I managed to get my friend to race me because I had a suspicion that the IS350 wasn't that much faster than the old 600SEL (1992). I had been in his IS350 quite a few times and was impressed with the power however.
Anyway, we did a few runs from a roll and he would let me get the jump. This would have been probably anywhere from 30-50MPH. Whenever we did I would start pulling away until around just over 100MPH and he would slowly start pulling. He never caught me however, even up to 120MPH!
We did 3 runs from a dig and letting me get the jump he wasn't able to catch up (though he was very slowly reeling me in).
The last two runs we launched pretty dead even. Through his first gear he would pull but as soon as I hit around over 4000RPM in first and second we wasn't pulling. In fact I think I started pulling on him in second. When I shifted in third is when he would slowly walk away again.
Lots of fun. Oh yeah, his car has a Fujita intake and 19 inch rims.
