First Race in New Car, Sort Of

Running some errands tonight I had a dude in a 1990's-ish 735iL come tearing up on my tail and then really throw it hard right to undertake me. I'm guessing it wasn't a V8 but it sure could stick on the big sweeping turns. This was on some wide sweeping local roads, 4 lanes, 2-and-2 with a median. I have yet to get into anything with anyone (other than getting pulled for Failure to Maintain Proper Control and Reckless on day 2) so I figure I'll play along. So I am behind him at the next light and he takes off. Now this is a local road and it had just rained so I am kind of hanging back letting him get out there a bit and then I stand on 2nd and reel him in like a small mouth bass with a broken tail. I pull up along side him and then we both back off because we're flying--like "thrown in jail" kind of flying. So he goes for it again after then next intersection and I hang back for a few seconds and then crank it up and reel him in again. I blaze up beside his passenger door again. When we finally part ways he gives me this very laid back wave. He was cool about it all. It's amazing how quickly the C55 can build up steam and what's more, it's incredible how well it sticks on the big open sweepers. I loved it.

Awesome, nice job dude. I just raced a e92 328i coupe last night, its a real nice looking Bimmer. He started out maybe 7 car lengths ahead of me and I just slowly crept up and pulled right on by him. Benz vs BMW is always a good race

That's just a Pshop job of a wannabe C63 badge tweaked for the C55. But I digress ...

If you go through with it make sure it says 5.4 haha.

I had a run in with a 750li today, I knew he was going to go for it, he wanted to get ahead of me into a merger into a one lane road. I launched my car from 4500, all 4 wheels screech for grip, I hit about 60 and he was about 2 lengths back and I get into the merger ahead of him. I heard his V8 roar off the line, I knew that he launched it. My 0-60 is hard to beat, I really want to find out what it is.

You never know, here's an A4 1.8T with bolt-ons (Garret intercooler, Bully clutch and Nuespeed pipes) going 12.4 @ 109.9 and doing the 1/8th in under 8 seconds. That's 0 to 60 in the low 4's. They can be very quick if done right!

Quite a bit more. My run to 60 is on par with a S4. Just after it dies down.

When I said bolt ons, I meant simple mods such as exhaust, chip, intake etc.. That one has after market turbo

I had same a4 (00 1.8tq) with some APR mods.. fun car to drive for sure.. 0-40 was great but after 40 car felt so slow.

True, fair enough. You need some serious grunt to push through the air after 80 or so. I've seen MPG maps at speeds from 20 to 120 and your mileage falls off a cliff after 85 and just keeps going straight to hell from there.

You launch at 4500? A stock transmission can take that without any problems?

Edit: I just read your clutch modifications...makes more sense now.
