Killed 335i in my CLK500
Coming back late last night after chillen with my buddies and some girls...I'm on i287 in between i95 and white plains. My friend and I are just rolling back to our houses, he is driving a black Altima SE-R, I'm in my CLK500. My mods are green air filters, 19" staggared TSW Bremma chrome rims, JBL subwoofer and amp. I think the rims and subwoofer cancel out any gains I could have possibly had with the air filters and it probably results in my car being even slower. Anyway, back to whats important...
I see the angel eyed headlights coming up quick in my rearview mirror. I switch lanes to let him pass because I wanted to see what it was. Surely, it had dual exhausts and the back read 335i. It was a silver coupe. Beautiful car.
I'm in the left lane, 335i is in the right. I floor it to show him its on and he chases me. After we hit about 100 I slow down. We then line up again at about 40mph and I hear him downshift and he's rolling in a lower gear. My friend gets behind the both of us. He does the 3 honk. We're going and by about 80 I have a length on him. I kept on gaining ground as I went up higher and higher. By the time I hit about 135 I had in between 2-3 lengths on the guy. My friend was behind and he witnessed the entire thing.
Afterwards, I get close to the 335 driver and roll down my windows. I beep and give him a . He just looked straight ahead and ignored me, like nothing ever happened . It was a younger guy, maybe early 20's. He was wearing a hat. Sore loser...
I was expecting the opposite to take place with him being ahead of me at maybe 3 lengths. Maybe its my 7 speed and higher displacement that got him? Anyway, a kill is a kill and this was a very clean race. I think I actually even reacted slower than he did at the 3rd honk.

Nope, my car is as I listed.
I've beaten convertible E46 M3's on highway runs. I've also beaten the coupes when I had an ECU and exhaust...but when I was stock I got pulled by my friend's M3 coupe.
I was extremely suprised with the results. But I'm just letting you guys know this was the outcome. I'm not sure if it was auto or manual. If it was auto the guy was using the tiptronic to downshift.

Nissan Altima SE-R
Yeah just to back up my man ItalianStallion here, I was driving the Altima SE-R behind him. I saw him line up with the 335i and decided to give them some honks to get them going. Just as he said, around 70-80, he pulled a length and they kept speeding (I hit around 120 and they were pulling away to put it in perspective). I would say the CLK won by AT LEAST 2 car lengths. Couldnt tell if the 335i was stick or not.

Man, do I hear an echo? It's been repeated so many times: anything can happen on the streets due to the vast array of variables to consider. Of course on an even playing field the 335i would devour a 350Z. However, what if the Bimmer driver missed a shift while the 350Z driver ran solid?

335's on the other hand have been known to hit low to mid 13's stock. Huge difference...

Stock 335's are putting down 290 wheel. Your car makes 287 crank hp.... IIRC when I was looking at getting them thats like 230-240 whp.

Wow...good job, cuz the 335i is pretty fast. It's all about driving too. Whenever i'm in LA, which is once a month; I drive my lil bros 335i sedan (automatic). It's stock for now, but it's still very very quick. I've been trying to convince him to get teh Active Autowerke procede piggy back ecu, and some downippes and exhaust.

Yup, my favorite road for racing
I once raced a 996 Turbo on i287 in broad daylight right through the construction zone...
BTW, what car do you drive. I see you know Arvy and all, have I met you before? Peace
And thanks everyone. It might have been an auto, I don't know. The driver looked like a douche so it was probably an auto lol.
