Saw this on the Audi Forums

Same exact stories. I raced a 2003 1.8T a4, stock, automatic. I couldn't pull.
My partial load vent hose was damaged, she stayed at least one car length ahead.

The hose I mentioned connects directly to the supercharger. If it's damaged, the car runs much slower, rpms go way too high, rough idle, etc. So basically I kept up with the A4, while my car was damaged.

Now it's fixed, and can't wait to run against another one...

Google the 0-60 and HP specs for both these cars...

see...... i am running perfect, plus just put in bkr6e plugs and my car seems much more peppy...... when i get my tp, fmic and 93 octane tune... there would be no chance that the car i ran would be anywhere my back bummper much less winning

put in a new clutch.... with a good launch and it would be worse for that cat......

can't say i have the fastest car.... nor beat all c230's, but mod for mod... i will pwn any c230 and most 320's

yeah...

When I get my second supercharger, 3 pulleys, 3 more air intakes, dual exhaust, two more rear wheels, and hook up my pepsi bottle with nos, I'll take any S4 out there...

Lol...

Of course it doesn't make sense, which is exactly my point.

NO offense:

Take two different cars. A4, and C230. Both Stock. If one is faster than the other, then it's faster.

If you mod one car, and beat the one that was originally faster, then the modded car is no longer what it was. - Stock.

If you mod an A4 and beat a c230, you did not beat the c230 with an A4. You beat it with a modded A4.

If you beat a c230 with all your mods, don't say, "I smoked a c230 with my A4".

That's why I made the comment about my 3 intakes, supercharger and exhaust.

If I mod my car to beat an S4, then the S4 didn't get beat by a C230....

Again, no offense.

but i don't know that that guy didn't have mods....... and i can't help it if the dbag thought the best mod was 18 in chrome wheels

but i wasn't going to race him...... i didn't think the dbag would race... but he wanted to, and i am just saying once finished with what i got, if the race were to happen after it would be worse

I just say give respect to the faster car. Car enthusiasts mod because they want to push the limits of their car, personalize their car to suit their needs, and to be faster than the other guy. Obviously, if someone has mods it should be noted, nobody disagrees with that (unless you're runnin' for dough ). But some cars have much more potential than others. Turbo Audis have huge potential. I raced a B5 S4 with exhaust and easily pulled him pretty badly. He got a new tune and when we raced again he pulled about 3 lengths on me. If I do the same mod to my car (ecu and exhaust) I'll still see his tail lights. With that said, why buy a F/I car if you ain't gonna mod? Its just so damn easy and so worth it.

Italion Stallion:

Nah, man I agree with what your saying. I too am going to start modding my car. It just seemed that in this thread one person was like, "When I get my mods, I'm gonna beat this car, and that car, etc..."

Nothing wrong with that, of course. But if your car is slower than another car stock, and you mod it to be faster, then yeah, respect for you. Respect for you only if you don't try and put down the car that beat you while it was stock, especially if they are not modded...yet...hehe...

But anyways, i agree with what you said, I'm not sure what to do with my car, thinking of modding the engine first, then the interior and outside...

How's ur dads nera treating him?

Yeah I want to hook up my car, as much as possible w/o breaking it, lol. Maybe put a clutch from a c350 so it can handle the extra power.

Regarding the Nera, I would sleep in it...all the time...

Where are of NY are you from?

*Edit*

Forgot to add, I see you have an 01, you have 170hp (K03s turbo vs my K03), so its even more in your favor, I'm hoping you have a 5spd though.

Properly tuned ? anything modified will beat another car, go buy a GTR or a 911 and spend your money tuning those and see how much faster they are than your 1.8

Meh... "faster" is relative.

I love bracket racing... why? because the freak with the 9 trillion hp viper will lose to my Toyota Corolla that I rented from Avis just for that bracket race.

Automatic + no wheel spin + good RT = win

Like I said, faster and win are relative terms.

You're only saying that because you own a slow car. No offense. I own a slow car too but I won't say I beat a Viper if while during a race he was short shifting and half on the throttle and had his wife in the passenger seat screaming at him (which actually happened. He gave me a though and I gave one back for effort lol).

I dont race my C230. Its not a race car by any meaningful definition of the word "race".

My Civic was a beast on a road course. My Mustang was better for the 1/4. Any rental car thats automatic and doesnt spin tires is best for bracket racing. Which is "faster"? Well, like I said its relative.

All im saying is putting up a statement like "which is faster" is like asking who would win in the octagon: God or Vishnu?
